Aliens vs. Predator 'Marine Reveal' Trailer (159.67 MB)

looks good but why a new thread for something thats already been posted in the AvP3 thread?

Probably because not everyone (like me) would look in that thread :p

Vid looks decent, better than the preditor ones from a few months back. Still not sure about it yet though...

hmm, not impressed tbh. Looks little different to AVP2 just with extra alien blood splatter.

No where near enough gameplay footage to make that kind of statement.

AVP 2 is 8 years old. Go Google some screenshots, it's like night and day compared to that trailer...not just blood splatter.

I'm very excited about this. Both of Rebellion's AVP games have been excellent, so I don't doubt that this will be hugely entertaining.

It's been far far far too long since the last one.

Instead we've had such gems as Doom 3 and Crysis

It has been far too long and i will truly love this game if it can hold a candle to its two predecessors but i just wasnt impressed by the gfx. 8 years really should lead to a night and day improvement but i just dont see it from that trailer. Maybe the gametrailers link doesnt do it justice, am dling the 159MB link to see if that's better.

Edit: nope still not overly impressed :(

Rebellion only made 1.. (the first AVP on PC and atari Jaguar) The sequal was made by monolith (same peeps as FEAR and NOLF) So the licence has gone a bit full circle. Plus the whole A:CM issue has meant its got longer in development as vivendi messed up with the licences etc.

Looks alsright but im not seeing much variety in the gameplay. Plus rumour has it the single player is incredibly short (sub 6 hours)

The Jaguar and PC versions were two different developments...hence me saying both as they share nothing in common except the license.

What? Are you being serious?

Jag's was released in 1994, the PC in 1999. The Jags was a Doom like engine with flat bitmap sprites and with no form of height (stairs, lifts etc). If anything it is closer to the Alien Trilogy engine.

The PC was a fully 3D engine, 3D models for enemies and your weapons etc. Rebellion may have transferred techniques they developed during the Jag version to the PC, but no way in hell that's the same engine. There is just too much difference between them and the development platforms.

Please if you have a source though...
