I've got 3 old fashioned singer sowing machines that i wanna shift. I've tried selling them on ebay but no one is interested. Doe's anyone know of a charity that will collect furniture and send them off to third world countries for better use or sell them on?

My uncle collects old non-electric sewing machines and sends them off to third world countries, but I have no idea how...

Sally Army is always looking for serviceable furniture of all types to help out unfortunate people. Only condition I can think of is that it must still have 'fire proof label' still attached.

Is the sewing machine part of the furniture? If like the singer sewing machine that I saw today in a very expensive clothes shop, then you might be able to flog them for half decent money to vintage shops of fashionable boutiques.

I'd take one off your hands if I lived close! I'm looking at getting one and restoring it after seeing the one I saw today.

Yes, these could be classed as furniture. They would make a nice table actually. It's a pitty you couldn't collect one.

Thanks for the replies people. I've got in contact with The tools for self reliance charity who are collecting them next week and sending them to africa which is just what i wanted. They are only taking 2 of them though because the other one i have uses obsolete parts.
