HTC Hero, coming July on Orange and T-Mobile, makes me want!

Gah, massive fail. Just taken delivery of my new memory card, opened it, then facepalmed and realised it's a regular SD and not micro sd.. Seeing if I can return it :p
 
This might be a stupid question but... if I get this phone through a third party website and the package doesn't come with *unlimited* data can I just phone Orange up after I receive the phone and get it added?

Just rang t-mobile for their best deal to retain my custom and get told they could do it for £35.00! best deal!! I rofl'd.

Having just been to the orange shop and seeing a deal for £29.95 a month i told t-mob and they said 'oh'. They cant beat that but they would like to retain my custom! I said they may do if they matched or bettered the deal but she said they couldnt! Oh dear oh dear.

I may ring them later and try someone else. If that fails, its over to Orange i go!

By *unlimited* I assume you mean 500Mb? If so then I believe it will cost £5 if you get the net bolt on within the first week or two.

Try to get through to the cancellations department if you didn't already. They should have the leeway to offer you better deals.

I was on SIM Only rolling 30 days with Voda, and I just ordered a new contract with mobiles.co.uk on Voda. Then I called up Voda and asked them if I could port my number, they said no need to do that, just basically swap plans between the 2 numbers. So now I have my old, 10yr+ number on my new plan and they moved the new number to the SIM Only, which is now being switched to PAYT in 30 days so it'll cost me nothing :)

If you're on a contract though, I think you're stuffed :(

Really enjoying this phone however a couple more annoying problems I've found:
- Video playback isn't very smooth both on YouTube and my own dvd rips (320x240, 900kbps) . I find 5he video speeds up and slows down a lot
- Facebook on the phone does not load all photos in a album in default mode. You have to switch to the full site which is a pain.
 
I've had no problem with facebook albums, loads them fully in a line and you can swipe along and select them no problem...

Also just sampled 10 or so youtube videos and playback is smooth for me :s Could be something to do with background apps I suppose?
 
Please do Skully as I have just about had enough of windows on my Touch HD lol. But I am king of stuck on what to do as the hero looks great but then again the rumoured Sony Ericsson Xperia X3 is due to come out soon but there is no firm date and that thing looks perfect imo. My contract ends in November so would have to buy sim free but thats ok as I can sell my Touch HD. Really wish SE would give a time when the X3 is going to be released!!!

Well I have 1,000+ pictures on Facebook but it only loads 40 when I select 'all' and shows no sign of loading any more. One album has 200+ in but it will only load a few of them it's odd.

My HTC Hero has been RMA'd today :(. The dead/stuck pixels were annoying me and I didn't pay £400 to have 3 (Well 5 but two are very faint) dead pixels on the screen. Hopefully they wont quibble and wont try and fob me off.
 
Very strange, all of my albums (and those of friends) come up no problems, with all photos!

I'm sure they won't fuss over dead pixels, it ruins the experience of the phone if you're constantly seeing them!
 
Has anyone found a slim case to put this in? I don't want to bother with a screen protector, but I could live with a case when in my pocket to stop keys scratching the screen.
