I've decided we need one of these threads so people can boast about how great their local takeaways are. I'll start with the nations favourite, fish & chips!

Ok so it doesn't look all that great but it's covered in salt and vinegar complete with mushy peas, bread and a big glass of ice cold coke!

What an absolute treat that was!

For people around my area, you must try Croft Fisheries on Croft Avenue in Acklam!

On the subject of mushy peas... Can anyone recommend and good tinned ones? Everytime I buy them they're crap and nothing like chip shop ones.

Mushy Pea's are ace.

Can't be that runny horrible soup **** that has started to infect chip shops.

Proper mushy peas + Chips and a nice bit of fish = brilliant.

I really want of these up north munchie boxes, but no places in Brizzle seem to sell them :(. Where can I get one daaawwnn saaarrff?

Newcastle Upon Tyne area

Indians: Ruchita takeaway on Station road in Wallsend, quite expensive for an indians but so very nice.

Fish & Chips: Seashells in Monkseaton is ace

Pizza/Kebab: Aroma Pizza on High Street West in Wallsend is ace for kebabs and pizzas, although the pizzas are quite greasy. Chicken kebabs are epic, chargrilled chicken with a pita bread, chips and garlic sauce, mmmmmmmmmmmmm. Usually open until about 1:30am too, so if you fancy a late tea then its open until the Wallsend pubs have kicked out.

And heres a wierd one, but its worth the trip.

Ice Cream: If your in the vacinity of Seaton Deleval and are on the roundabout beside the town hall and see a cafe I think called Deleval Ices then you MUST go in and get one as they are absolutely epic.

Oh noes, a take away/fast food thread. You may as well just sounded the trumpets that herald the arrival of the holier than thou, OcUK food snobbery brigade!
I'll just stick to my popcorn thanks.

Pizza Pizza in Newcastle...

weekdays it's happy hour so I think you can get an 18" Pizza for less than £7/£8

Let's go for a Pizza Pizza Pizza is our street cry

As for Fish n Chips, can't beat Tynemouth, even that Magpies whatever it's called at Whitby (one of the best in country apparently) only matches Tynemouth I think.

There is always a long queue
