All above for only £3.99. Special offer ended so now £5.99.

even that Magpies whatever it's called at Whitby (one of the best in country apparently) only matches Tynemouth I think.

I know the one you mean and its bloody lovely, not been in a while though.

Another very god chippie is Bills in Cullercoats, used to go down spend the day losing my change in teh amusements then go for my bag of chips, very nice chip shop it is.

Also, for pub meals theres a pub called the Anglers Arm in Welldon Bridge, the steak and ale pies are the best ive ever had bar none.

I've decided we need one of these threads so people can boast about how great their local takeaways are. I'll start with the nations favourite, fish & chips!

Ok so it doesn't look all that great but it's covered in salt and vinegar complete with mushy peas, bread and a big glass of ice cold coke!

What an absolute treat that was!

For people around my area, you must try Croft Fisheries on Croft Avenue in Acklam!

Prefer the one at Tollesby Shops but year Crofts do a good fish&chips.

As for Fish n Chips, can't beat Tynemouth, even that Magpies whatever it's called at Whitby (one of the best in country apparently) only matches Tynemouth I think.

Never been as no fish and chips is worth an hours wait stood outside watching people walk by eating fish and chips which are probably just as good.

For a good chippy in Whitby, try Mr Chippy I think it is over the bridge and round to the right. It's the red one with the clown face :p

Lol, I've only been to whitby once and I was told to goto Magpies... The queue there was long and with all the hype I was expecting something amazing.

It's really good like, lovely fresh the batter is just right and fish is proper thick and not fried to ****.

...Just like Tynemouth chippy :p

Is Ritas really up to much? Whats the chicken kebab like (non doner)? Fancy a kebab now!

chickens donners the best. Yeah they are very nice, for that type of kebab. Still grease rubbish, but tastes nice and hits the spot.

There are 2 takeaways near me that are next door to each other. Both do really good chicken kebabs and both are totally different.

One is flame grilled chicken tikka, which is really nice but they use crappy nan bread. They also use really fresh salad and put a slice of lemon in.

The other isn't flame grilled but its still very nice. They use the most awesome hand made nans ev0r! The salad they use is more cabbage than anything else though and they put a full green chilli in the kebab.

I'm tempted to ask for a chicken kebab from the first takeaway and ask them to pop next door for a nan bread :D.

Hmm I much prefer grilled chicken mixed with lamb doner, the van at the bottom of clare street/baldwin street in town pwns for that.
