I know how much ridicule any mention of surround headsets gets, but I'd encourage people to be open minded about such things. The reviews aren't in-depth at all really but it's the first glimpse of a proper review of the Psycho Acoustics 5.1 headset. I am interested to see that they rate it above the Logitech G35 which is Dolby Headphone based. At a glance - I think they've over-rated most of the headsets. I think they've missed a trick by not including an X-Fi or Xonar with stereo headphones in the roundup - I suspect they would slaughter most of these combos.
I'm the first to admit that to date 5.1 headsets haven't been good enough. The psyko's a unique design though. It's significantly different enough from the Medusas etc for me not to automatically dismiss it and they rate it as giving the best surround effect here. Personally I wouldn't knock it until an audiophile review site has tried it. No way I'm buying a set at $300 though so unlikely to try it myself.
