Cancel your Orange contract now!

Just noticed Orange have changed their pay monthly guide to include a clause about the price increase from the 14th Sept. Still no clause about the international call charges changing though. They have dated the guide July 09 v29. Have a look on the orange website for the pay monthly guide.

However I still have a copy of the pay monthly guide that I signed up to in Mid July before all of these changes came to light. Still available using this link:

What do you reckon to getting out of the contract? Will they try the "Well the July terms included the changes" when clearly they didn't.

Just looked at Document properties in Adobe Reader for the 'new' July v29 Pay monthly guide.

Bit late in my opinion to be 'creating' July's terms!

I am reading in other forums that mobiles.co.uk are basically saying that if you get the txt from orange and you decide to leave the contract you dont have to send the phone back. (to mobiles.co.uk) can anyone shed more light on this.

if it was ben from mobiles.co.uk who said then you can take that to be true(think you can contact him on here as he's replied on this thread), if on the other members not related to mobile.co.uk/cpw saying it then best to phone up and ask(tho be prepared to hold for ages and be given different answers, oh wait that seems like what's been happening with the orange cs. is that a coincedence(sp?) or are they really one in the same? ;) ).

I got my touch hd direct from orange so can't say either way if what you've read is true or not.

Tim, as has been said in the thread numerous times, it is not a matter of whether it effects you; in fact that is entirely irrelevant. You are entitled to cancel because they are altering their contract with you - that is the sole relevant detail.

Girlfriend ordered her PAC last night, (she started her contract in DEC) now I am trying to convince her to get a magic! :)

YES!

Received my HTC Magic last night! WOW, What a phone. Had a little play around, and I love it, just waiting for my number to change over in the next couple of hours and im good to go! :D

This phone has not dissapointed, its actually exceeded my expectations! :)

Aye, just phoned Orange and requested PAC code, there was no argument or persuasion:)

So is the o2 simplicity via quidco about the best to go to? I sim unlocked my HTC Touch diamond last night.

Those of you who requested a PAYG sim card when cancelling your contract so that you keep your number just be aware you will generate another months worth of line rental for Orange as you have to give them 30 days notice for the PAYG cards to arrive.

What's the benefits to cancelling here?

A) you have a nice smartphone and basically get to keep it for free
B) Yuo've changed your mind abotu your contract and dont have to wait 18 months to get out?

Is that it? Trying to decided if it's worth following this up. My phone is old, i'm 2 months from renewal and leaving the country before the end of the year :/

Sorry but can someone help me out here?

You can get out of the renewal 2months earlier and go onto a sim only 30day rolling contract that is likely much cheaper than what you are on.

Ok whilst waiting for my PAC I signed up via quidco (£100 cashback) on the 12 month Simplicity with o2.

This is the bit where you tell me there's a better offer elsewhere:o

Is it better to wait until you receive your PAC before switching over? I don't wanna be late and the £100 cash back disappears!

Cheers,

Su

Well it takes 2-3 days for the o2 sim to arrive, and 2-3 days for the PAC to arrive?

I did it so I can hopefully have the o2 sim as soon as I get my orange PAC.

I guess there is a cooling off period with O2? So just in case Orange dick about with the PAC code you have 14 days or something to cancel the O2 contract?

Cheers,

Su

Anyone know when the O2 simplicity 12 months (£100 back with quidco) finishes - I've read on this thread 3 Aug 09 but the quidco site still has it up. Anyone know for sure before I order one!

I've just gone ahead with mine today, seems to have gone through ok.

The only downside is you have to be happy with your current phone I guess. I wonder if o2 would do you some sort of deal inc. handset when your current phone gets a bit old?
