Went for my first ever (since school) outdoor run around a local park last Tuesday.
I mapped out the route which was 2.3Km. Set off at what I thought was a slow pace but soon found I was out of breath so slowed down to a slow jog. I managed around the first 500m before I started to walk then ran again when I got my breath back. Took 20 minutes to do the whole circuit.
Went again on on the Thursday and did a 3.3Km road run. I ran for about 500m then walked for around 50m and repeated. Felt better than the first run overall. I was out for just under 30 minutes.
Last run was yesterday. I only did 2.4Km around my estate but ran the whole way at a steady speed. Took just under 15 minutes. Besides my breathing being a pain I felt like I could have carried on a bit longer.
Hopefully my breathing will improve as it's my limiting factor at the moment. My chest feels very heavy and I sound like an Asthmatic!
Quite enjoying it altnough I need to buy some new trainers which are better suited.
Just wanted to share this as most of my mates think I'm an idiot for running!
