Thailand

I spent 3 months staying in Bangkok and 3 months working in Jakarta :D. Were trips to other countries/towns too though. Jakarta spent most of my time in my hotel because it was too hot/smelly/noisy outside. Bangkok was quite nice after that and I didn't think it was that bad, just ride the monitor lizards in Lumpini park if you are finding the city too much ;).

I like Bangkok, but a month???

last time I stayed 2 days to rest after the flight and I enjoyed it but I enjoyed everywhere else much more :)

Almost every other westerner says the same thing. But how can you possibly know what its like after just 2 days! It took me at least a week and a half before I started to properly find my way around and work out the best places to go.

No problem, if youre ever back here let me know, I work 60 hour weeks so I like to have a good time on Saturday nights!
Hopefully I'll make it back over patts for a bit before I head to another country, so I'll give you a shout if I do. BTW, mind if I ask what your job is? I'd love to live and work out here too :D

I've been before though so it's not as though I formed my opinon on such a short period, there's loads of nice places but I, like many others, don't see the appeal of the place on a long term basis

I like nana/sukhumvit. Despite the obvious problems the nightlife round here is amazing.

First place i stayed in was sukhumvit 71, got pre organsied taxi from the airport to sukhumvit then to my hostel for a night. MAJOR culture shock (plus the fact i was by myself with nothing booked in thailand for 3 months) Taxi turns down a backstreet and stops at a hostel with a wall of graffiti on with people pushing carts of cooken meaty (and insecty!) goodness. :)

Happy times
