Actually according to wiki it wasn't designed to to it as such, but a spray version was used in Vietnam to seal wounds.

Truth. I superglued my fingers together trying to repair a hoover at work o) and it came apart just a few minutes later, leaving a residue that flaked off over a few days. Not a big deal.
