C-Media Restores Directsound3d in Vista for CMI8768+, CMI8770, Oxygen HD CMI8787

Looks like the equivalent of Realtek's 3DSoundBack.

Possibly, but as C-Media make the chip for Xonars, I assume it's more like DS3d-GX. Realtek 3DSoundback functions in a similar way to Alchemy.

Edit: The Club3D Theatron DD in my XP based machine is a CMI8768+. May have to give it a try in vista or W7 at some point.

True, it's really annoying though how everyone supports EAX is some form or other except IDT, who make the codec for my laptop.

i wish Hercules would make a vista 64 driver for their game theatre xp :(

Now there's a name (and card) I've not heard in a long time....

Sold my GTXP just on the cusp of XP's release if I remember right, when the driver support for XP was abysmal (yes Vista haters, XP had miserable driver support as well for some kit). Definitely had potential to be a great card.

EDIT: and having checked the Hercules support site, I see there really are still drivers, although not for x64 like you say Bledd! Wish I'd kept it now.... is it actually decent in Vista?
