1920x1080 Vs 1920x1200

Is their a great deal of difference between the 2 in terms of what you see on screen and any improvements to game graphics?

I brought that exact monitor about 2 months ago. picture quality is excellent strait out of the box, Games look very nice on it (GRID,COD,Crysis ive played)
It also came with both a DVI cable and a VGA cable which i think is excellent value.

As for the difference between this and 1920x1200 i dont know.. maybe an extra cm..

I would expect this monitor to be better quality really DGM 24".

If you afford the extra monies it costs, I would say it would be worth the difference.

From what I've heard, they use PVA panels which are higher quality than the TN panel that I suspect the Acer uses.

Best thing is to wait for people to have the monitor to pass judgement on it though I suppose.

Is their much input lag or ghosting with this monitor?

I will seriously consider this monitor if its not a TN panel i just cannot afford the money for the 24" HP monitor.

Ive always use a CRT monitor for years, so i am wanting to make my first LCD monitor one i will not hate, and one that works well for fps and other games.

There are a fair amount of games which only run in 16:10 ratio, at least bug free, so i'd recommend the 1920x1200

i'm yet to find a game that doesn't work at 1920x1080 (besides games that don't support wide res), even Half Life 1 supports 1920x1080

I've used both, you won't regret the 1080

I prefer 1200 but I would happily buy a 1080 if I was buying now just because of the prices. At work we have a 23" 1080p right next to a 24" 1080p. Although the 24" doesn't look that much bigger, it's much nicer to use with the text size etc.

And remember with 1920x1200 you have the option of both resolutions without changing anything. Yes, when running 1080p, it will have 60 black lines at the top and at the bottom but with a 1080p screen these black borders will be replaced by extra veiw of the wall behind the screen so you arn't missing anything.

I went from a 2407 at 1920x1200 to a 32" 1080p lcd and really can't see any difference in the screen real estate... made no difference to me at all.
