Hi

I have a freesat hd (humax) that seems to have 'scrambled/no signal' on a few channels - scuzz/movies4men + many more i can't remember right now - i just thought it was a duff box.

This was UNTIL i turned my BT homehub off and all the channels came back

Turned the hub on - the channels go, off - they come back.

anybody had this before? I have tried moving the hub away (its nearly 3meters away) but it still causes loss of picture

I didn't think you were able to change the channel on the hub, how do i do that? Would this mean i need to reconnect the ps3 etc back up? (No problem, just wondering)

If we take Scuzz as an example, that's 11642 MHz, subtract the local oscillator frequency of the LNB which is 9750 MHz and the source of your interference is at 1892 MHz - not wifi. It's in the frequencies that DECT phones use (1880-1900 MHz). Do you have the hub phone?

I used to have mine set to 'Automatic' on the channel selection and it gave me less than modem speeds, played about changing the channel from 1 all the way up to 11 and found 5 to give me the best connection/speed.

My Laptop just went to 'Limited or no Connection' back to 'Local and Internet' in about 10 seconds automatically each time I hit Apply on the Hhub's browser screen!!..

BTW its under the Wireless section in the 'Advanced' tools on the Hhub! :)

Nope, i live in a barrack block so there could be one somewhere, however this problem happened in my old room about 200yrds from this room. Not only that but if somebody else had a cordless phone then it would happen all the time, not just when i power my hub up.

You realise the HomeHub has a DECT base station in don't you? That interference isn't from Wi-Fi, it's the wrong frequency. It's possible you have a faulty hub though - give BT a call.

Gah this is still happening and its getting really annoying.

I dont even have the hub phone so why would it be doing this :s

Have you tried another Router/Modem in there in place of the HomeHub??.. you'll find the settings in the back of the Hub's manual!..

No it may be the route to go down i think....but i shouldn't have to splash out more money because the hub phone (which i dont even have) is still transmitting :(

You can disable this in the HH settings. Point your browser to 192.168.1.254 (not making it a url cause then everyone would click it :p) and have a poke around.

I'm using v2 of the HH so can't help, I used to have the v1 but it's been ages since I messed around with the settings in there. First time you go to play with the settings you'll have to change your password.

Hi mate, i had already looked around in the settings but i couldn't find anything - i even went to the advanced settings.

It's sheilded cable! I tried two different ones. I was thinking of upgrading to sky+hd sooon but if i loose half my channels i might not bother.
