Do lots of us live with Medical Conditions?

Ulcerative Colitis here. I also seem to have the immune system of a 90 year old because of it too, which means I constantly have cold like symptoms.

Eczema, IBS, depression (kind of hard to define), short-sightedness and hayfever. Had some form of semi-anorexia once and OCD, plus I have lots and lots of anxiety stress. I think that's everything.

A lot of people have some pretty bad stuff in here although I was sort of aware of that previously.

I'm diabetic, which can be a bit of a pain someitmes.

Ditto.

The other half has a family condition like Morba posted about. All of the females in her immediate family have a twisted left leg (When her knee is pointing straight her leg doesn't). Gives them all really bad back pains. Only option is to have the leg broken and reset in the correct position at a young age. Gutting.

I suffer from DVT (deep vein thrombosis or blood clots). Mainly due to my dodgy circulatory (is that even a word?!) system.

Basically im missing the main artery that goes from the bottom of my heart and sends blood to the lower half of my body. But never fear, my body made up its own little system for getting blood around, but unfortunately it's not all that great and makes me very prone to blood clotting.

My specialist told me it was like somebody removed my artery and replaced it with a bowl of spaghetti. =/

Just bad (but not as bad as some on here seem to have had!) anxiety problems

amazing how many different conditions there are on one forum

IgA Nephropathy.

Day-to-day effects - absolutely nothing, as long as I keep taking 4 x pills a day to regulate blood pressure. Almost second nature now. Although regardless there is an (x)% chance that in the next 20 years or so one or both of my kidneys will fail and I will need dialysis and/or a transplant.

Other effects - kinda weird finding out that, despite feeling 100% completely fine, never having been 'properly' ill, you have a condition that doesn't affect you in the slightest but could feasibly cause you to die early, or need to require major invasive surgery or treatment in the future. Life goes on, of course, but still kind funny.

I've got Crohn's disease and vestibular damage (permanent dizziness). Life can be pretty damn hard to cope with at times.

you poor sod

I read up a lot on that when I was ill, the doctors kept saying to me "just be thankful you haven't got chrones"

:(

Eczema & Asthma (really bad eczema, but I've learnt severe eczema is treatable it only gets bad from neglect)

Not sure if this is a medical condition but...

I have a broken eighth or ninth rib on my left. A few years ago I used to be in excruciating pain. I could feel the broken bone flapping around when I poked myself. As the years have gone on it's gotten less and less painful.

Never bothered to see a doctor.

I have an irregular heart beat that comes out of the blue, also some times it beats very fast for several hours, happened quite a few times but its still scary when it does happen especially if its coupled with an irregular beat at the same time. Had all the checks done and been told theres nothing they can see wrong with it, just one of those things.

Exactly the same with me, they said it could be anxiety, which i also have pretty bad.

Eczema & Asthma as well, both are under control but i have to carry my inhaler everywhere.

you show your stupidity more and more everyday.

I SAID I'VE BEEN DEAF IN BOTH EARS SINCE I WAS ABOUT 2 AND A HALF!! :D

Sorry, couldn't resist.
