Hey guys, would anyone here be able to give me suggestions as to what to write in a Get Well Soon card of a cancer patient?

Anything I can think of comes across as either insensitive or contrived. :(

Never been good at writing cards.

I'm sure whatever you write will be appreciated greatly. It depends on wether it's a relative or a friend of course. But to be honest just a card and a nice message from somebody when you've got that kind of horrific disease is good enough, at least they'll know that you're thinking of them.

Agree, it's the thought that counts.

Then don't write a card, visit them and give them a gift instead, book, flowers or whatever.

I once wrote in a card in a similar situation, something along the lines of:

There is nothing I can say, but for what it's worth - I'm thinking of you.

Apprently, they liked it, as it was the bluntest, non-BS "get well soon" card they'd got.

well it is cancer....

It doesn't usually result in a complete loss of sense of humour.

Depends how your relationship is with the person and the stage of the cancer.

As long as it is not final stages I would try to say something that will prompt them to think about a positive future.

Like if it was a golf buddy, "Get well soon, see you on the golf course ya hacker".

I would go for something along those lines but doesn't necessarily need the cheeky part at the end.

OK, done a little bit of research for this :p

Just went and had a look at all the cards my wife got when she was diagnosed earlier this year.

The most popular things by far was wishing her a speedy recovery, thinking of her at this time and hope she gets better soon.

It's easy to think of cancer as being worst case scenario which I was guilty of when I heard my wife had it. My wife has had surgery and it was a total success so wishing her a speedy recovery worked well. Suppose it depends on how advanced it is.
