i have this screen bought it in december from ocuk when they had it

i use it for FPS gaming, TF2/L4D/CSS all work fine on it, with no noticable ghosting, films look great on it.

my best purchase of 2008

Got one a couple of months ago (elswhere for £200 delivered) and I have to say it is a very nice panel. I've seen some mixed reviews of the S2409W but mine is great. Blacks are very black, colours are bright and I can only see a tiny bit of light bleed.

Great for gaming and films too (propper widescreen 16:9), makes Windows 7 look the nuts. Has a HDMI port unlike some other cheap screens. Ignore the TN snobs unless you want to spend double the monies :D

Apologies for the necromancy, but didn't want to spawn another thread.

I was on the verge of ordering this monitor for use with an Xbox 360, but further research suggests a problem with the HDMI audio, specifically that the monitor kills sound output after 3 seconds of silence from the HDMI source, and takes about 5 seconds to restore it upon detecting sound again. I really don't want to rain on OCUK's parade, but I can see that "feature" spoiling some atmospheric moments.

Correct, I had one and got rid for this very reason.

Very, very annoying.

And the run around I had with Dell on getting a refund on a defective screen will stop me from buying anything from Dell again.

How would my rig perform with this monitor?
I dont play crysis or ARMA (until i upgrade CPU & GPU), but do play 2142 (a lot :) ) & L4D.

I want to push the buy button today!!

L4D worked fine for me, with AA on low, but everything else on high

that was with..

q6600@3ghz
8800gt
8gb ram

and if you have a game that doesn't perform as well as you'd like, just use 1600x900 (preferred) or 1680x1050

Well mines arrived at work so i've not opened it yet. There is a sticker on the side with someone elses name on it but it could have come from the couriers other parcels i guess.

Can OCUK confirm if these units are all NEW rather than some refurbs?

I'll post some piccies up later when i get home :)

Fatboy, can you confirm that these are 100% brand new and not refurbs?

also what is the dead pixel policy on these?

looking into getting one of these :)

Thanks
