Top Gear Returns Sunday 21st June 2009

Err surely its actually Wales. Without any doubt in my mind. When I used to live there, finding that sort of road took less than a few minutes.

In addition, Clarkson was unfortunately not on location in the AM. Reference to the dials as he was driving evidence this. They were in their rest state and he was just sat in the car turning the wheel.

Still, I enjoyed the episode and the AM part was quite thought provoking.

Nope dials on the V12 start much further down than a normal car (http://p.webwombat.com.au/motoring/images/aston-martin-v12-vantage-rs-2-big.jpg), its doing around 50mph, also reflections in the mirrors, its not on blue or green screen.

Also I can find the same sort of road 4 15 mins from my house in the peak district or 1 hour away in the lakes.

Wrong, Wrong, Wrong, Wrong, and Wrong again.

Go and look at an aston Martin Dashboard, you will see that where a 'normal' cars 'zero' is is actually astons 90km/h mark ;)

I also said earlier in the thread that it was apparently filmed in 'middle england' :) and maybe near Ffestiniogg which is of course near the england / Wales border.

in one of the overhead shots it didn't looks like clarkson was driving

also, clarkson did say that due to the budget cuts, they were going to have 6 full-fat episodes and the last one would be made with the 50p left over.. :p

Ah so the dials swing round in opposite directions?

no, they still go clockwise but 0 is where max speed would be on any other car, i.e 5pm position and 55mph (90km/h) is at 7-8 o clock.

Edit, yes they swing in opp. directions

Hmm im finding it hard to believe its green screen. Maybe the bits when jeremy was talking it may have been on towed on tailor to get a steady panning shot in the car but surely not all of it is green screen?

So the AM is not actually filmed in location then? So the AM was never there (wherever it was)?

Wing mirrors do actually show stuff hes going past.......

After Effects it is then. :D

That Aston Martin skit was probably the worst Ive seen on Top Gear.

They tested several brand new super cars and announced a few others, yet for some reason Clarkson decided that was it for em.

Hell they announced the brand new Ferrari in that very episode and expected it to be brill.

Have to say I thought it was by far the poorest series to date as well.

Yes I have to say the last episode of this series was a bit of a let down, probably the least enjoyable episode ive seen, ever. Usually I find the hour flies by but last night i was clock watching waiting to do whatever it was i wanted to do next!

Wont be putting me off the show though, thats for sure :)

Still, no one figured out where the AM was filmed?

At 1h1m14s it shows a line of trees which ive seen on a photograph once - think it was a poster, one of those inspirational ones.

yes, he taped up his bonnet, etc too.

i'm surprised the car lets him, usually cars with electrically-folding mirrors automatically unfold once you're on the move.
