Online play of Streetfighter IV.

Having a macro-enabled controller .. so easy-pressing of 1 button for example can always 100% pull off the 'Super-Dragon flame throw' (Normally takes precise pressing of 6 buttons, quickly, in a specific order, to do the thing).

Cheating or fair play?

I think having a button that presses 3 punches at once for example is fine, because it is difficult to press shoulders + face buttons at once at times.

But doing moves and so on - then yes, it isn't fair.

Cheating - any tournament I have been with such controls are not allowed. Saying that I have never been in a street fighter tournament.

yep cheating yourself and the opposition really, the combos are there because they are super moves that are hard to pull off and therefore require some skill. May as well use a trainer imo.

Yeah cheating. Your skill is pulling them off with the key combos, if all u do is press a key and pull off complex or ultras moves then yeah its cheating.

1. Macro controllers really don't help in SFIV as moves aren't hard to pull off, you can't macro combos as they require timing. (some combos are VERY strict)

2. There is no such thing as a "super-dragon flame throw" nor do any moves in the game require the precise input of 6 buttons.

Supers/Ultras are EASY to pull off, the harder part is knowing how to make them land successfully.

Macro control users won't stand a chance against anybody half decent, baiting, mind games and combos/tactics that a macro controller won't be able to help you with will make a macro control user get his arse kicked.

haven't actually played the game, but any attempt to shortcut things in this type of game must be construed as cheating?

They had something similar for the SNES for Street Fighter 2. Makes for a very boring game

He's using a made up combo as an example, it doesnt take Columbo to work that out.
