i was making a new hole in my belt with a folding knife, low and behold it folded on my finger, went in about 1/2 cm, didnt really hurt as the blade was v sharp, but its right on the bend, so is a pain in the arse more than anything

wots your worst self inflicted injury?

Does running across a main road and getting hit by a car on New years eve when ****ed and not looking at the traffic count as self inflicted?

I dipped my little finger into a chip fryer. It's a nice shade of pink now. Weeks later i sliced into my wrist whilst cutting a cheese block. Less damage, but way more blood. Took out 3 salads i'd already prepped.

Smashed my foot into a cast iron railing going quite fast on a motorbike, my foot rippled along the railings and smashed all the little bones in the top of my foot

Fell out a first floor window.

edit: ....no wait, it was definitely either the time I accidentaly stuck a stanley knife through my hand, OR the time I ripped my banjo string .... Both equally painful.

Falling out a window was sweet in comparison, blissful unconsciousness.

Copied from another thread about stupid self inflicted injuries.

Broken wrist, dislocated elbow, fractured collarbone, three broken fingers and various other minor niggles like cuts, bruises and missing teeth. Also lost 2 pints of blood too.

Cause? Jumping over a 4' wall only to discover a 20' drop onto a carpark the other side!

Fell off a ravine whilst mountain biking, fortunately there was a ledge 15ft down and I didn't plummet 800+ ft to my possible death. Not really self inflicted I guess.... but close enough.

Oh actually I fell out of some scaffolding when I broke into a building site as a teenager and broke both feet (metatarsals) but never realised I had and was too scared to go to the hospital or tell my parents, so I just limped for a while. By the time the agony was too much I went to the doc who told me he'd have to re-break my feet to set them right, I never went back for the 2nd consultation and to this day my feet are in constant agony and I get cramps in them, and they are just generally seriously mangled! :o This was over 15 years ago!
