PS3 £150

My friend has offered me his PS3 with no games for £150, is it worth taking a look at? Any good exclusive games on it?

How old is it? Is it a 40GB, 60Gb or an 80GB? Does it come with a Sixaxis (no vibrate) or a Dual shock 3 (vibrate)? May also be worth to know that it looks like the PS3 price will drop to £200 ish in the next week or so ready for the the Slim to come out early September.
As for games, yes it has loads of great exclusive games in many genres have a look at previous PS3 game threads or check metacritic.
 
Most likely a 40gb, i'd say it's well worth the money. Have a look at the top 20 games on metacritic and see if any interest you.

The 80GB looks like its going to be £200 soon that will be with a game and a DS3 with a years Warranty. I would say wait at least till next week before you do anything. If he sells it for £150 then good for him, but i would rather wait a few days and get a brand new one with a game and a DS3.

Fair point actually. Can you get your mate to hold onto it for a week or two op?

It's been rumoured for ages and the slim PS3 is all but confirmed now, iirc there's some form of press conference coming soon where Sony are rather likely to announce both a price cut and the introduction of the slim.

Well across France, Spain, Portugal and the rest of Europe they started to lower the price of all PS3 by 100 euros. Huge rumours that are basically confirmed that the PS3 slim will launch 1/09 at possibly the same price as the 80Gbs or a bit more. Next week is games con in Germany, Sony have a 3 hour time slot allocated on the 18th August for it.
 
i would buy it straight away. i got £350 when i sold mine and tht was within 1 day of putting it on ebay. this was onl a year ago and wouldnt say they have decreased by tht much in the small amount of time
 
A certain catalogue has been selling PS3s for £199 for months now, I know this because the 80GB Ps3 we bought at the end of june for my stepsons birthday came from there.

Games inc are FiFA 09, TW PGA 08, GT-P, Snooker 07, Res 5, SFIV, Soul Calibur IV, Uncharted, LBP, MGS4 and Rockband.

Plus two Blu Rays of unknown name.

Is it worth it?

About 100 pounds worth of extras there, including Rock Band peripherals. If they are games you plan on playing/buying I doubt you would get a better deal for £250.

As a new PS3 owner pack it has some pretty decent games and all accessories you would need for a while.
