World of warcraft - New expansion? :)

Interesting. I wonder if there will be any new classes...
 
Probably released near Feb time, the same time SoE release their expansion for EverQuest 2?

Which was announced a few weeks ago at Fan Faire.
 
Goblins won't be a playable race.

They would need to replace the current Goblins with another neutral race.

Goblins haven't exactly been neutral. They've served the Horde to a far greater extent, even more so than blood elves and trolls.

This information was leaked a long time ago anyway.
 
Goblins are a neutral race in World of Warcraft, they "run" trading companies, and Booty Bay.

Blizzard would need to replace them.
 
Goblins AS A WHOLE, are largely neutral.

The new Goblin race could be a breakaway faction that follow the horde.

WoW.com seem very confident by this (And they're usually quite hesistant) so I'm prepared to accept it. Worgens here I come! :D

Trolls are almost universally hostile to everyone, but the Darkspears are getitng on quite nicely in Orgrimmar.

The Goblins may be a neutral trading race, but lets face it the alliance arent exactly good customers. The vast majority of alliance tech is made by gnomes already, I think the only thing they buy from goblins are fireworks and christmas treats.

I could easily see a few shrewd goblin merchant princes and mercenary captains seeing siding with the horde as a good business venture.
 
Off topic a little, not sure if it was just rumours or something thats going to happen. But with the feature being able to switch sides, shouldnt there also be a feature to change race?

It'd be great, but it would break the tradition of paid-for blizzard changes being cosmetic (eg server changes/gender changes/name changes). Even the faction change is cosmetic to a degree - you don't really gain any advantage. But with race changes, you could swap to the FOTM race, then swap back as another racial becomes better. Blizzard don't want mass waves of character changes to go to the latest "imba" racial as the game develops.

On topic: I think WoW.com have got it spot on, as has been said, they're normally very reticent about leaking anything or even getting exclusives. The original clue came from datamining the new Hallow's End masks which MMO Champion did at the start of 3.2 PTR.
Personally I'm not that bothered, I have too many high level characters to reroll again - they're just not that interesting to me. But I do reckon a new Hero class will be introduced at Blizzcon - more than likely the Archdruid or some other healing/spell dps class.
 
Why would the Worgens be Alliance, WOW Wiki says they are basically always neutral evil, don't sound like an alliance race to me.
