Anyone fancy a low mileage Estate?

What on earth is "re-conalised"?

I'd be less bothered about whether the interior's been replaced than whether its had a new engine (or two), new gearbox, clutch, suspension and other major components replaced.

Car will be shagged otherwise.

He's not had the interior replaced just treated.

Obviously its totally shagged, you can tell everything about a car from its mileage. You honestly think it made it to 550k in that condition by being driven 'till its shagged?

You can drive anything to destruction, provided you're willing to replace the parts and throw megabucks at it.

1300 miles a week

Certainly is impressive, would be interesting to know if anything major has neened replaced in that time.

Have seen quite a few taxis on 300~400k miles, but never that new or that high mileage

Well, it looks immaculate - plus it looks like its been owned by someone who hasn't had to skimp on servicing.

Not surprised it sold fast.

Wouldnt you rather do your 100 mile a day commute in that rather than a shopping car Bug One? :p You know you want to.. And think of the thousands of quid saved for holidays!

Just did a 500 mile round trip with an average fuel consumption of 42.8mpg!

I sense a point trying to be (badly) made here ;)

Nice find though! be interested to see how much maintenance it required over those miles!

normal maintenance, but youre going to go through "consumables" such as bushes and dampers just as shuold be normally changed when worn

I know its not even close to the same mileage but an indication of what can be achieved with a well looked after car. I sold the front seats from my old Impreza and the chap that bought them came in his Impreza. Mine had 73K his had 180K and you would be hard pushed to tell his from mine in terms of marks/blemishes. When he told us the mileage we just stared at him.

He even swore that it was the original clutch. His wife was there and she was nodding away to our looks of disbelief.

I guess mileage isn't any real indication of a cars condition. My bosses car is low miles and hasn't got a panel without a dent or scratch (ex harrier squadron leader!)

my mk2 had 196k miles, that was on the original clutch.

my mk3 golf is on 210k miles, its about to have its first set of ball joints changed haha

at a meet lastnight i had the bonnet up and listend to the sound of the actual engine compared to two other cars, one on 110k the other on 140k. there was no obvious difference between the sound of mine and theirs. maybe theirs are code F or mine is still going strong
