Am thinking of getting the above:

Am looking for a monitor / hdtv

Main usage gaming but I would like the choice of a tv as well.

I currently have a Samsung SM 920nw so anything would be an improvement

So is this the best choice? or is something else better coming out soon?

Got one for my sister recently, its seems excellent. Obviously a TN panel so its vertical viewing angles aren't amazing, but is an all-around decent TV/Monitor. The remote & firmware/EPG elements are excellent too.

Something in particular you'd like to know?

I'm currently using it's big brother the T260HD and it is superb.

Visualy it's not as good as a dedicated monitor but it is still very good, then again samsungs usualy are.

I havn't used it as a TV yet but as a monitor for gaming etc, it's brilliant. It's also awesome with my 360.

If you're not that much into gaming (just play whenever you're really really bored and got nothing to do.), then It should be alright.. otherwise, I wouldn't recommend it at all. Tried the demo.. very noticable for me.. but you should probably head to a local shop, see if they have it on a gaming PC with a game demo :p maybe it won't be too noticable for you.

I've yet to notice any lag on my T260HD, been playing pretty much every game I own on it to see what it's like and all is well.

I have the T240, brilliant monitor. The display is vibrant and not had any issues with input lag at all, on any game. Arma2/Bioshock/FSX/CSS etc. I would definitely purchase one, looks "pretty" too ;)..

am I really the only one that is genuinely noticing delays here? ;)
now I'm thinking it depends on the person using it.. so I think the best way to go about it is to give T240HD a try yourself with some sort of game running.. see how it does for you..
Its too much for me personally.. but then again, I have been playing CS beta 6.0 - 1.6 all the way upto CSS and still play it till now.. so I might be a bit too demanding.

I have tried playing on the Dell 2407WFP A04, and I've checked the input lag in reviews and by myself.. and its just a bit over 20ms, and it really is unplayable for me.. It feels like forever before my crosshair reaches a players head :(, and once its done that.. the player I'm trying to aim at had already moved away from your aim.. :(

Oh, and Fenris.. please remove the mentioning of a competitors name that you've quoted from my post.. lol.. sorry.. I really did not realise it till now.

those with 240hd's what level do you play your fps at?

Am not playing anything professionally at the moment but I used to play cod 1/2 & Css source professionally & it would worry me if I ever started playing at that level again that I would need a new monitor ;/

Also do you use the freeview on it & is it any good?

This is the whole reason why I got an Iiyama E2403WS instead of another Dell 2407WFP as my 2nd monitor, is because the Dell 2407WFP just couldn't cope with my demand (would have looked better with 2x2407WFP though)...

When I got the Dell 2407WFP, I used to play CSS and TF2 on my Samsung 2032BW, and that worked out alright, got quite annoying though, as I had my Dell set up as my main screen. I used the Dell mostly for general work and casual gaming e.g. Oblivion, Bioshock etc. those sort of games that really don't depend much on pin point accurate and quick reaction.. but I had to switch the samsung as my main monitor everytime I wanted to play CSS or TF2.. so I just had to let the samsung go (giving it to my gf soon) and got myself an Iiyama E2403WS so I can have a main screen for all my gaming.

So I think it all depends on your demand for low input lag..

never have had to return an Iiyama monitor, I think this is the only Iiyama monitor I've ever owned so far. And it's brilliant. So can't comment on warranty.

Sorry to dissapoint you but I have yet to find a proper gaming monitor and a decent freeview TV packed into 1 monitor. The only other option is the NEC 24WMGX2, and just attach a freeview box to it via component.

There may be another option, but I'm not too sure about this, so if anyone that has this sort of setup please comment about this idea?
Freeview box would have to have an HDMI connected to a PC monitor directly via HDMI.. but to do this, the monitor must support the frequency thats being transmitted by the Freeview box via HDMI (which I've not got a clue of, as freeview box specs does not state its frequency...).

My advice is if the shop doesn't have any google seller's rating, don't order from it. Try and search around for someone who had shopped there, see if it is actually a genuine e-shop and not just a scam.

thats what its starting to look like :(

my only concern with the Iiyama is there pixel policy & knowing my luck I would get one.

Iiyama E2403WS isn't being stocked anywhere anymore as far as I'm aware..
My Iiyama E2403WS has not got a single dead nor stuck pixel (tested by myself) at all. Although you might want to ask that question first to the seller before you buy it.

There are more options than the E2403WS for gaming ofcourse.. but I'm a bit worried that you're requirement for Freeview on a monitor won't be satisfied. so don't buy it :p

go for the T240HD if your main requirement is freeview, It is perfect for that purpose and as a general PC monitor. Just that fast paced gaming is not is one of its strengths.

I just recieved my t240 And I LOVE IT.
I know there are better monitors out there but for the price this has to be one of the nicest looking most well specced 24" ers around
Buy it you wont be dissapointed

I'm fairly sure I heard somewhere that the T240 and T240HD have different amounts of input lag, the HD being worse. Just thought I'd point that out, as several people have commented about the strengths of their T240 screens.

I'm personally torn. The T240HD looks perfect for my needs (I don't have much space) - HDMI input for my PS3, integrated freeview and most importantly 16:10. I do use my PC a lot, both for general use and gaming, and I simply won't put up with 1920x1080, even if it means my PS3 has to be played with a few black bars.

However, if there really is input lag then it's just not worth it. I'd go for the standard T240 and either put up with no TV capabilities, or look into TV tuner/Freeview box, though I've heard that TV tuners are for the most part rubbish and I don't know how well freeview boxes work.

Plus the HD version is like bloody golddust to get hold of in the UK at the moment.
