Would any of you guys work a 15½ shift?

recently got myself a job as a security guard and there will be a new opening soon for a corperate building.
basicaly sitting at the main desk at reception.

the hours would be 5:30pm to 8:30am the next morning.
4 days on and 3 days off.
£7 per hour (North West wages) = £378 a week.

Im just thinking i may get bored for that long and go mad lol.

PS- the guy who works there now says he has a sleep 12am to 5am :D

Depends on the job mate. I personally couldn't do 15 and half hours security work as the boredom would kill me.

Edit

Yeah browsing the net is a viable option with that type of work so I guess it wouldn't be too bad.

Not for those wages unless I was desperate

I couldn't do nothing for 15 hours sat at a desk.

I'd try and make sure I had either an internet connection, or a supply of good books / puzzles in fact anything to make the time pass.

not really for those wages as i'm pretty sure you'd get paid more per hour for working at a supermarket overnight.

However if i was desperate i'd do it, I would however have; a book, a multimedia device, lots of snacks and internet access. oddly i think if you had 1 or 2 people who you got on with working with you then it could be a real laugh.

 to you too

What don't you agree with?

I'd work those hours, but not for those wages. For long shift night work, they are pretty poor.

How long would you be doing it for? If it was for a few months vs a long term move, then it changes things. To be honest I'd probabaly not take it as I'd want more money for those hours.

I do occasionally work that long, but then I'm not sitting around doing nothing so it's hard work.

A job where I could sit around reading / on the net sounds great, but there's no prospects and it's not great money.

4 on 3 off is OK provided it doesn't mess with your home life.
