I currently have a P6T6 WS Revolution motherboard sitting here awaiting my new case, I've tested it with a stick of value corsair and it seems to work, just need to order some new shiney ram.

Questions are :

1) 6gb or 12gb? im wanting to overclock the machine so will these effect the overclocking?

2) speed i think 1600 or above would be cool but is it better to get slower speeds with tighter timings?

3) the timings.... well as above i suppose :P

4) which ram :D i dont want to spend a fortune, but 150 ish for 6gb seems ok? or 200 if its gonna make a big diff :P

Many thanks for your help

:) i know when you have all Ram slots up you Can't OC as much...

But Question Why do you want 12GB ram? if you want for Games Kinda pointless
Unless u Do like Massive Vid Editing and things like that lol
i know i have 4GB ram with 64bit most i used was like 3.4GB... With Vegas rending a Vid

No reason really, just falls in the "because i can" catagory

i have 8gb atm and it only uses 1/2 in vista, yet when i had 4gb it only used 1/2 of that :S weird :P

I had 12GB in my i7 when I built it a few month back. Didnt see any difference with games such as Crysis, Left 4 Dead or Dawn of War II. Even when using Vista in general and on boot up there wasnt a difference, so sent half back and suck to 6GB.

ok cool, so any suggestions on amkes etc if we assume im after 6gb :D

2000mhz is just over kill really only really needed if you are going for records i would go for some 1600mhz parrot viper or ocz gold but both are out of stock atm

But if your saying 2000mhz is a waste of time then prolly not worth it? what about the 1800 mhz ones in the middle, their about the same price as the 1600 ones, but have much highter timings?
