15½ hour shifts

Already do 12 hour shifts and thats on my feet all day working in retal so spend most of my day running around helping customers or tidying up after them so yeah id quite happily do it.

Aren't there laws which prohibit working over 12 hours at a time? And require a minimum rest period in between shifts (8 or 12 hours). 15.5 hours add to which travelling time and the fact you can't always switch off and go to sleep straight away.

Seems inhuman to me...

You will get bored of the internet after a while, especially as most forums etc will probably be blocked, i do just 8 hours a day and on slow days even with having access to forums I get bored :(

if that's enough money for you and you've not got an alternative then I think you'd be daft not to. Especially if you can get some kip as well, one way or another you'll be able to get online, sort yourself a gaming setup and as said you'll be fine to just patrol around every couple of hours through the night

nights where you're the only person there are a bit different, you can get away with doing a lot more, even if you can't get online properly you can play games.

did 3 12 hour shifts last year ,that was great with 4.5 day weekends now its 4 9 hour shifts but with a 1.30 am finish im up at 9am and see most of the dy plus still a 3.5 day weekend:)

Not for security work and some other jobs.

doing what you want whilst having a look a a security screen once in a while, hen having a walk once in a while is not inhumane. Even for that length of time. It is a great temporary job.

No, because I've done 8 hour nightshifts of similar work for £9.20 an hour, if I can get that I have no need to wear myself out doing 15 hour shifts... if I did that long term it would have a severe impact on my children's upbringing and my relationship.

Yes but you get paid for your skills. Thats why a highly skilled job is better paid. Walking around, watching a cctv screen and playing on your psp isnt exactly difficult now is it?

Its more the staying up and alert for 15 hours through the night that would be disruptive. I certainly didn't have time to play on a PSP which I don't have in my last nightshift job
