Killing Floor any good compared to L4D?

I found it very good myself, definitely worth a go.


Its a lot more "satisfying" than L4D, in its visceral delights and guns.
 
Personally I feel it's not as good as L4D for many reasons. On the whole its not a bad little FPS co-op blaster but it doesnt seem as polished as L4D nor does it play as well. It certainly hasn't held my attention for as long as valves creation.
 
Im still 50/50 to which one I prefer more, L4d much more polished but I'm fed up of the same campaigns, KF weapon combat is more fun, semi interesting perks system, though not much more to it than shooting zombies, but its not really fair to compare them too much, they are different types of zombie coop shooter..if thats possible :rolleyes:.

Either way I think its a blast to play, especially for the £10-13 it is (out in the shops now I believe) plus there are loads of, 70+, custom maps out for it that are whitelisted to work with the perk system, some good some very good, others...meh. Also new update out soon with at least 1 new offical map and 2 new weapons. Not to mention the mapping competition which, I imagine, will add a bunch of very good maps to the offical rotation.

I paid full price for it and hated it after the first few games, maybe its something to do with the look of the old UT3 engine or just the annoying voice of the woman at the end of each wave or even the repetitiveness of the thing, but not my cup of tea anyway

Yes, I do play a lot of L4D but dont take it as thats why I dont like Killingfloor as i also play BF2142 and thats 3 or 4 years old now

I just dont think theres anything in killing floor to make you come back again and again

Maybe I'm missing the whole multiplayer experience with this..playing this with mates may be more fun, but tbh its the sucky graphics and that annoying womans voice that really put me off
 
Killing Floor is good fun and for £12.99, a good bargain.

However I got bored with it personally after 2 weeks. It just doesn't seem to have the longetivity that Left 4 Dead has.

With custom maps, the low map count for L4D is not such an issue anymore imo.
 
KF was great the first week it came out as ppl were hosting 64, 100, even 200 player servers! I actually enjoyed being in those more than the standard sized ones cos it was just pure carnage and the thrill of being the last survivor, knowing every one else is watching you in spectator mode, was quite something when it happened.

I haven't been on in weeks but I don't think as many large servers are hosted like that now.
