i just want some idea of what someone would get if,

Your on a deferal order, then you comit a crime and plead guilty to spitting on a police officer, racial abuse on a police officer, and mild assault on a member of the public, at the age of 19

mild assault meaning pushing and headbutting (i dont know why headbutting is mild)

would you just get a slap on the wrist ?

and yes this is something to do with me :p, i was the one who got the mild asault, reported it, police came down arrested him and in that time he asaulted the police officers, its not just a random question

i got the letter today saying he had pleaded guilty, so im curious of what he would be looking at
 
well he was on a deferal order allready from being caught in a stolen car, and this lad, "was" one of my friends, but like i say im curious
 
It'd depend so much on other factors, previous convictions, mitigating circumstances for example. Anything from community service to a small prison sentance.
Although it's important to remember that spitting is considered assault, with racial abuse - racially agrivated assault - not a charge i'd like to be up on!
 
Not sure what he would get to be honest, it's not as cut and dry as it used to be.

Worried he might come and seek some revenge?

If first offence then maybe just a fine or even a "slap on the wrist", you may even get a few hours of CS. If it isn't your first offence then you will most likely get a few weeks of CS, although the "spitting on a police officer" could enrage the courts and lead to a more severe outcome.

Just my opinion though, don't quote me on it...
 
He pleaded guilty? In that case he's probably going to walk away with a sentence of a few months suspended for a year. Or something similar.

ive known this lad for 15 years, grew up with him, seen him change ALLOT since he left school, drugs related, he got a knife out on me on the night, we were havinga good laugh, he got a blade out on me, so i floored him to say the least and took the blade off him and quickly rang the police, i was trying to walk away but he just kept following me, i wasnt gonna let him bring it to my parents house so i had to take action, knowing someone for that long, and then he does that, im lost for words even up to this day, shows it doesnt matter how long youve known someone , best mates or not, alcohol, drugs can change anyone in seconds.

well he didnt plead guilty straight away, this has been going on for 5 or 6 months, he peladed not guilty in one of the first court apearances, then he went on the 10th of this month and then pleaded guilty.

we are just all curious of what he will get though, hes been arrested for hitting his own dad last year, hes a strange boy.

U called the police on your friend of 15yrs? AFTER u already disarmed him? that's a bit shadey of you don't you think? I do understand the effects of drugs on the mind but still, if you've already calmed the situation then there was no need to involve the authorities... (I know I was not present at the situation and therefore accept I may be missing some facts)

allot of facts missed ofcourse, i cant write everything down about his past record, and i find it dispicible no matter who you are to get a knife out on someone, saying hes gonna cut my throat ect, its dam rite thug like, mum, dad, brother, sister i would have rang the police, especialy when he followed me home, oh and just another thing, the police picked him up outside my house, he came looking for more trouble, so 120% rite decision to ring the police.

Wtf you called the cops for? You knew him for 15yrs and call the police on him (unless you really thought he was going to stab you :/)

wouldnt suprise me, especialy these days :rolleyes:

even his fammily want him to go to prison for a bit, its just drugs drugs drugs, hes on jobs seekers alowance, has been since he left school, never had a job, he got kicked out of his house 2 years ago, everytime he gets a present off his parents he sells it to buy drugs, the only way this will stop if he goes to prison.

trying to back yourself up now :p, maybe not, was just a slip of the tongue, it depends which fammily it was, but what i ment was getting a knife out no matter who you are is dispicible.

but think about it please before you jump at me, if a member of your fammily comes at you with a knife, says hes gonna cut your throat, its not a bad decision to call the police, so dont jump on me like "OMG!", your drunk, threatening your own fammily members with a knife, wheres the best place to stay over night ? in a cell, but were going off the main story now :rolleyes:

Quite unlikely, most sent to prison get addicted to harder drugs, sometimes not even drugs [new craze in prisons is snort powdered forms of the heroin substitute methadone]. The best way to get someone off drugs is to explain to them how their behaviour is affecting their loved ones and to give them all the help and support needed to quit, basically rehab.

No, if it was family or a close friend I would not involve the authorities as that would land my loved ones in more trouble rather than providing them with the help they needed. I would restrain them, talk to them, get more help from other family members in order to resolve the situation, rather than involve the police giving your family member a criminal record.
