Anything that need revising or something thats overkill?? Then just need to break my current system down and sell the parts off, hopefully that will help with this build :D

What case are you using? There could be problems with the cooler and the graphics card. SSD is unnecessary, especially since there's a limited number of times it can be written and rewritten. If you really want to get a 30GB SSD for a boot device and use a 500GB+ HDD for storage. 850W might be a bit much, it's just going to hurt your electricity bill :p

Try and find a Xonar for that price, i've heard better things about them. For the memory, look at Patriot. For the fans, look at Scythe.

Yeah Currently have a Antec 1200 case, and a Samsung F1 Spinpoint 1TB. Wasnt 100% sure on what PSU id need for powering 2 GFX cards. I went for the 120GB SSD as i would also want to place programs and some games on it also, so whats the limit for writing to a SSD drive then?

I read that current SSD's will last upto ten (pinch of salt ofcourse) years reading and writing 24/7 and by then we'll have fancier ones anyways. Nothing to really worry about. Especially if your only using it as a boot drive.

Ah ok, id probably only have the drive for 5 years at the max!!, seem to upgrade every 2-3 years anyway

Bit confused here...

The cooler just mounts on a normal 120mm fan mount, can't see why there would be a problem?

SSD isn't really 'unnecessary' as it is much faster, I agree with you about the limitations, however the crucial ones have a 5 year warranty.

850W may be a slight overkill, however I it is future proof, and it won't hurt his electricity bill what so ever. A PSU only draws the power that the PC demands; it won't draw the entire 850Ws. The Corsiars are fairly efficient. If anything it will help his electricity bills.

I agree with memory.

Xonar and X-Fi... there isn't one better than the other, they are just better at different things. X-Fi is better at games, Xonar is slightly better at movies etc.

Disagree about the Scythe. The fans he has chosen are superb and are currently one of the best on the market (they just look plain ugly imo :p).

Would the, Corsair HX 620W be man enough for the job then?

Also what are onboard soundcards like nowadays?, is it worth the £70 odd for a dedicated soundcard?

If you really want to save money then go for the 750W, but if I were you I would stick with the 850W as it had good head room and it will wear down over the years due to capactitor aging.

As for onboard sound... It's really a matter of hwo important you view sound, I have an X-Fi Xtreme Gamer and I would never go back to onboard sound tbh.

xfire 4890s will give you better performance than sli 275s

and your psu is overkill....

and why do you need the sound card???????

core i7 920@ 3.8
kingston hyperx 6gb@1800mhz

Debateable... I think it applies to what games you play.

As for overkill, as mentioned above, yes it may be overkill, but it leaves him with head room, future proof due to capacitor aging, and if he overclocks as well that will soon ramp up the wattage.

It's a good spec for what it is but I really think a 2nd high end gfx card is only for enabling near-invisible levels of AA.
I'd go for 1 GeForce 275, drop the Corsair PSU to a 600 ish watt model and put the change in your pocket for the future. Thats just my opinion on it though.
While I don't know that much about the differences between different models of SSD's, I disagree with some here - I think it's possibly the biggest all round performance boost you can add to a high end rig. Storage has been the most commonly encountered bottleneck outside of gaming for a long time now. The only question with SSD's is now or in a year's time.

I think your psu is fine. As mentioned above, it allows you more headroom for future upgrades.

Soundcard, well I would personally go for something better (£100+ range). Then again, it all comes down to how important you view sound.
As a gamer, I would always look at the Monitor being the main priority of upgade, then graphics card and then sound. I prefer to have a fuller experience. If you're not fussed then the onboard is suffice. It is good enough to allow you the time to invest on a better quality soundcard later.

Xi-fi series has more effects an settings for you to play around with. If you're a gamer, you will like that.
However, if you're an really into movies and music, then Xonars are better, as they come with built in amplifiers and really enchances the qualities that comes out of your speakers/headphones.

In terms of graphics card, I agree with the above poster about pairing up 2 Ati 4890's. They are better than the gtx 275's which are similar priced. It also provides you with true DX10.1 experience, should your game support it.

I find the onboard HD sound on the UD5 to be excellent, personally I'd cut that off my list and spend a little bit more getting a second GTX275 which the HX850 would handle with ease.(Would be a very similar system to mine then, and I'm very happy with mine). However, you might want to save the money and wait for the DX11 cards.

I think your spec is fantastic. Good combination of money saving vs performance.

Would personally recommend that you just get a single GTX 285 though for £230 and wait til they drop in price a bit before going sli.

Hmmm this is why CustomPC magazine say the 275 is better than the 4890 this was on a singular card basis.

I would like to see your reliable evidence to support that xfired 4890's are better than 2 gtx 275's because i highly doubt that if the 4890 is slightly worse than the 275 i really dont think that having two of them verses two 275's is gunna amazingly make the 4890 better.

Also as far as i remember i thort SLI was better than xfire aswell??

Ok have made some slight revisions based on people suggestions:

The 620 PSU should be plenty to run the system with a 4.0GHz OC??
