I am not too fussed about the price though ideally around £20-£30 max and size can't be too big due to my desk having an area that slides out with the keyboard aswell as mouse.

Any recommendations? is the everglide ones any good?

sometimes it all depends on your preference and what mouse you've got..
what mouse do you have right now? and do you prefer cloth texture? or glass/smooth texture?
I personally go for those one's with cloth like texture.. not too smooth so you actually have control of your mouse, and not too grippy so you can actually move your mouse about without feeling like you're trying to drag the whole of tytanic with your hands.

I got a MX510, i prefer cloth and want it to be smooth movement since my current mat feels like you said that you have to drag it a lot sometimes to aim and stuff.

My friend just told me this one is great: http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=GS-010-ST&groupid=702&catid=32&subcat= should i go with this?

I play CS regularly and the MX510/518 runs perfectly on that mousemat. Although it can be quite big depending on what size you get since they vary.
