Hi,

Plan to go to London in a few weekends time just for the day to take my sister to see Lion King theatre show. Originally had a look at hotels and they all seem pretty steep, so decided to drive and just park somewhere outside of london that is safe and secure.

Any suggestions, I'll be coming from Oxford or M4 direction, and obviously be easier if near a tube station.

Thanks !!

Thanks, problem is though worked out Lion King won't finish til about 11pm, need to make sure I can get back to the car at that time of night ! lol.

No - unfortunatly "cheap" and "parking" don't go together in London.

I would - like the others - recommend taking the tube :p

don't mind taking the tube, just anywhere I can park the car near a tube station.

Was thinking of finding an all day NCP by Park Royal ( zone 3 of the tube ).

Go on a Sunday when parking is, bizarrely, free all day in London.

Not in the residents bays of Westminster and Kensington ;)

Snow-Munki: you should be able to park near Victoria Station free all day Saturday in pay and display bays, and single yellows.

We park at Euston, and for the day and evening its about £25, which aint too bad, not found many places cheaper, and its convient as we can get straight out of London

Most of the City of London is free after lunchtime on a Saturday and all day Sunday. You can get back to the Liverpool Street area easily via the Central Line or Tower Hill/Aldgate on the District and Circle lines.

Is there not the possibility of parking at one of the tube stations on the West side of London and travelling in? Lots of the outer tubes have parking and it'll cost about £3 per day and you've got plenty of time after the end of the show before the last tube back.

Park near my university (UCL) - Malet Street. Got plenty of cameras there and union is usually packed outside so plenty of witnesses etc.

Stones throw walk from Russell Sq / Goodge Street (Northern) / Warren Street (Victoria line / Northern)

Oh and London parking is free on weekends for the majority.

I always drive in from Berkshire for shows as much cheaper than the train.

I always park in the masterpark carpark in China Town, and if you are going to the theatre get them to validate your parking and it becomes half price. Going in for an evening from about 5 - 11 costs around 11 pound, even with congestion charge still mcuh cheaper than the £18 travel card per person from home.

plenty of free parking if you know where to look, I know a spot behind a theatre off new oxford street thats been free for years, that gets you onto TCR in 5 minutes so is an awesome cash saver, its usually always free too which is handy as one of our datacentres is there!

no I won't share :p

Went yesterday (saturday) we were advised from a friend to park at East Finchley ,we did and as he said it was two thirds empty and overlooked ,cost
£1 all day !!! then a day tube pass was £6.30 each for zones 1 to 4 (in my reasearch i thought it would be zones 1 to 3) took 15 to 20 mins and we were in leicester square

Hi,

Going this weekend, any ideas on the exact road name or postcode so I can just put it in my sat nav.

Think Iu'll jsut park bit further out and get the tube in, will need a travel card that day anyway as be going around all the sites etc,
