HTC Hero, coming July on Orange and T-Mobile, makes me want!

Received this morning, all good. It's a white Hero. Very please so far, only downside is the free micro SD card is class 2. Still, 16GB though. Better than a slap in the face with a wet fish.

Just looking for apps now. Whats the best facebook app - free!?
 
Checked mine its a class 6 was going to say not noticed any slowness while its been accessing it, not bad as me brother gave it me, battery life isn't that great atm but i reading that takes time to build up so we shall see.

Remember that having wifi / 3G on at all times will suck the battery dry. I've dropped a couple of quick switches for those on my home screen for when I'm at home (wifi) or out (3G) :)
 
I disabled the 3g side as i don't want charges so i only really use Wifi, but i guess i need to remember to turn it off when it goes in sleep mode, or does it already disable it for you.

I do hope the new update that's rumoured does improve it a bit as i do get some lag from time to time with mine specially when you have lots of widget short cuts on your home screens.
 
It'll automagically disable when it sleeps.

I found that the bookmarks widget is a huge weight on the processor, removal of that and nicking my dads class4 card gives me a phone with no lag (other than when loading up the huuuuuge list of applications when you want to manage them in the settings :p)
 
Has there been any reports of the lag issues being fixed on these with updates or is it a hardware issue, mine lags badly at times and is frustrating, just wondering if to send it back if it can't be fixed.
 
i find that the lag isn't that bad when doing things like loading up menu screen, home screen etc, but it's getting annoying when texting as i can sometimes have moments when my fingers find the correct keys somehow with good speed but the phone lags 4/5 keys behind sometimes.

where can i find out about updates planned for android? think the phone is really fantastic just wish it has a bloody keyboard or better touch typing.

anyone else find that they often hit the . key rather then the space key when typing?
 
also looking for a better calendar app as the one on the phone doesn't have the ability to set events every other week/every 4 weeks, unless of course i'm mistaken?

can anyone recommend a better calendar app that does this?

yeah just found that out, seems to be syncing from online to my phone but not from my phone to online :confused:

ok another problem: i have a different calendar for each type of clean we offer, so spring, end of tenancy, offices, regulars etc all have their "own" calendar which keeps it nice and simple for me to see only office cleans i got for the week and it's nicely colour coded. the trouble is my phone is only syncing with my first calendar, leaving out all the rest :( . how do i fix this?
 
Can anyone on here recommend any decent apps? Have had a scout through but can't seem to spot any mentioned here! :)

The pulsing track ball is doing my heed in. I'm sure I read about the track ball lighting up in different colours as well? blue was mentioned I'm sure.

Only been out 2 weeks.

Never heard anything about the trackball flashing a different colour. But more importantly does your notification light above the screen flash, when you get a missed call or text?

Annoys me to. My Hero is next to me now with the trackball glowing white even though I've received nothing? :confused:
