Just having another nose round, as t-mobile have told me that although i'm eligible for upgrade, i'm not "fully" eligible yet.... typical t-mobile doubletalk, i can get a cheap phone now but wait 2 months and I get more.... except the phone I want is currently on month deal now.... and i've just seen the new Curve 8520 on orange.... :) looks quite similar to the 8900

Same dimensions, 3g lighter (not that you'd notice i think)
"media keys" and trackpad over a trackball.... not sure about this part...
Doesn't do divx, which i don't anticipate being a problem as I don't use phones for stuff like that...
The resolution is down a little
Battery life is up 50 hours, which given me remembering to charge the damn thing is probably a good thing... :D

Otherwise, identical specs,
How would the trackbal/pad vary? no experience of either so any advice welcome :)

The 8520 looks a good entry level blackberry, basic Edge connectivity speed, good wifi and support for UMA, reasonable screen and full qwerty keyboard and optical 'track ball'.

Decent price of £200 inc vat on pay as u go.

got offered 30 quid a month
free 8900
unlimited text and web
600 minutes

so now come the toys i think

Orange will do the 8900 for £249 inc free BIS and internet for 6 months. The 8900 is a better device than the 8520, it has gps, better screen, trackball and plenty of apps.

I am toying with the idea of getting a 8520 because I quite fancy the blackberry experience.

I had the same deal at Phones 4U with that phone plus I got some cash back with it and traded in one of my really old phones which they gave me £50 for it also.
