Same voice actress too. She seems to have been type-cast into tsundere roles. :p
Went and checked out some other roles she's been in, seems she is in quite a few animes I seem to have enjoyed watching. :o

got my hands on ergo proxy, havent started it yet, got no idea what its about but a friend told me its pretty epic, anyone else seen it?

Started watching it, thought it was quite cool anime style etc and the Re-l Mayer (cover girl) character design was a nice change from the usual anime look. However I got to about half way through and was then a bit bored by it and I think went and watched a couple of gundam 00 (cough cough) episodes and then haven't gone back to it yet - obviously it couldn't have been that good for me  I will end up going back to it at some point.

mmmmm same here, think i just found what to continue watching tonight :)

As I said it was quite good and as you all know I'm hard to please when it comes to anime :)

I've got to figure out what I'm going to watch tonight too, might be another slice of life anime I think :)

Just finished watching Amazing Nurse Nanako ... quite amusing although showing it's age a bit now.

Did find the "trailers" quite amusing as instead of the usual ~6 video trailers for other series the last disk alone had static pages of information on at least 13 different items, (lots of Tenchi for instance), but a lot of them were for VHS releases! (admittedly this was an old DVD which was branded Pioneer)

ah, nanako, I think that was one of the first Anime DVD sets I bought (complete with the sliding outer cover that changed what she was wearing from fairly normal clothes to just underwear :p).

I keep thinking I should rewatch it, as it's been years since I saw it.
IIRC it was one of Pioneer's first Anime DVD releases (or certainly one of their first sets/le sets).

My copy is just three volumes without any slip covers ... but I think I spent very little on it in some sale ...

But it's a good day today ... nipped to the post room in the office this morning and picked up a package which held:

True Tears Complete Collection (Yay! at last!)
Genshiken 2 Volume 1 (Yay!)
Ah My Buddha Volume 4 (or in real terms series 2 volume 1)

At last we have a release of True Tears, although it's a pain that Sola has slipped till next month.

I see the last week in November is going to be busy with Spice and Wolf and Bamboo Blade Complete Collection Part 1 both now listed for release on the 24th. :)

Just watching Bakemonogatari, on ep6 atm.

Have to say I am seriousely impressed, the story is completely loopy but makes a strange kind of sense, the art is fantastic and I'm finding it really strange to watch an amine almost solely based on diologue.

Deffinetly recommend it though, loving it so far.

Oh and I can't get that little piano number out of my head, just a repeated 8 noted over and over, it's almost hypnotic, if anyone knows if it has a name or where a loop of it can be downloaded that would be great.

i watched it shortly after it was released and really enjoyed it, its got a different kind of story, lots of mystery and most the time your not really sure whats happening, but a very good watch and both me and my wife really enjoyed it.

also i just finished asura cryin' which was excellent jus cut very short an lots of unanswered questions, but a new series this fall :D

On Slayers atm, up to ep14, they are off to see who has been sending the bounty hunters. Not bad if a bit aged.

slayers was brilliant, movies good aswell, tho got a bit tiring in the 3rd season, 1st season was classic, might be inspired to to watch it again :D

edit: sorry for the double post :(

Seen it, own it, love it.

It is considerably deeper that most series and deeply based in philosophy, it's also kinda hard to grasp the first time though (that or I'm just slow) but if you can get into it it's brilliant.

Is the piano in the OP, ED or inset music? I think the ED single was release 12th August but no other CD's have been released yet.

Got around to watching Ponyo the other day :)
Nice typical Ghibli movie. i thought it ended rather abruptly though, will be looking forward to a dvd or BR release i think.
Just rewatched a few epps of genshiken this eve(someone a few pages back mentioned it)

You're right it's typical Ghibli, I have the R2(J) DVD release and it's excellent ... I'll pick up the Blu-ray release when it comes out too. The end of the film could have been a bit better but it did feel typical Ghibli. What with Optimum supposed to be bringing out Ocean Waves in September that'll be at least two more Ghibli disks by the end of the year.

Genshiken is a brilliant slice of life series, (I love the detail in the backgrounds in the building which the club room is in). The magazine and packaging inspired DVD covers are clever and the extras on the DVD are good (I think that the OVA Kujibiki Unbalance episodes are far better than the series which was released and the live Kujibiki Unbalance performance by Under17 is great). The manga is pretty good too :) The OP for Genshiken is track 1 on my anime commute playlist and is nice and energetic to start off to.

I'll be starting DVD 1 of series 2 .... probably next week now assuming I finish the last 5 episodes of True Tear tomorrow night (which is pretty good too).

I've only seen episode 1 of that series so far so I don't know I'm afraid.

Just finished True Tears ... nice romantic drama (not comedy) which was well worth the long wait for the DVD release. Hiromi looks damn good all dressed up for the festival. Nice to have a good quality Bandai release with no apparent issues as well!

Finished watching Blood+ this morning, not a bad little series :)

Some episodes seemed to stray a bit off course though.

Had to rewatch Outlaw Star agaiin since I had it. Got all the way through Eva and then was dissapointed by the ending. Haven't watched the movie yet. Was watching Desert Punk which is good, haven't finished it yet, since I got my hands on Studio Ghibli movies. Watched Nausicaa of the Valley of Wind, then started on Castle in the Sky but my ex hdd case decided to crap out on me. So no anime for me unless I wanna watch it on veoh or youtuuubez
