First time I've received this message, at 8.45 on a Saturday morning, can't start to play Fallout 3, as Steam is too busy. Somewhat irritating considering its offline I wish to play.

Anyone else getting it? Or had it previously.

Did so, it is aparently only affecting Fallout 3 players, who had downloaded DLCs, or had updated to the most reent version of FO3, version 1.703.

From what I understand steam is updating everyone to this version currently, and its bugged out, as when i verify the intregity of my gamefiles, they come back sound.

I can play all other games but FO3 is refusing to let me in. Annoying.

I think the problem will only apply to steam users who have updated their FO3 installation using GFWL as one needed to do in order to download the DLCs.

Steam is now 3 months later trying to provide the same update and not failing, as its alreayd installed, but not alloing access as it can't understand why things are updated. Hopefully they'll launch a fix or a workaround at some point.

I do not fancy reinstalling and losing my gamesaves.

Ah the joys of having your games controlled externally

They will fix it Iam sure (within a day or 2 )

This is a classic example of why I still prefer to buy my games ye olde fashioned way.

But like everyone says , If steam goes under tomorrow Iam sure they will have the resources to release a "dont need to contact steam anymore patch" ..........

I may be wrong about this, but isnt Fallout3 one of the games that when installed on steam can still be launched via fallout3.exe, because of GFWL.

May be getting confused with another game, but atleast on the retail version if you launch the game from the .exe (not launcher) theres no disc check etc just GFWL.

I had this with TF2, I put "steam is too busy....' etc into google and did a serch and found a workaround, having to delete some file because of update or something....sorry if that sounds a bit vague! :)
