Best alternative to the iPhone ?

I have the iPhone 2G and its great, but not as a phone! People cant hear me very well and they say i sound mumbled. On a house phone im fine though so i can only blame the iPhone.

Whats a good alternative? I love the iPhones features and would like something similar.

Have a look at the Android/Google phones...theres the Hero and the Magic which are both great phones and very iphone-esque.
 
That TG01 is mahusive! I saw it in a phone shop and it looks really out of place.
Thanks but the iPhone is about as big as i would like for a 'mobile' phone.
 
People have said that the call quality on the iPhone 3GS is a lot better than previous models, no idea how true this is though.

That said my friend had an iPhone 2G and the quality was sounded fine. :s
 
Well i phoned apple, and my warranty ran out a few weeks ago.

I compained and am now getting a replacement :)

I may just use it, or sell it to fund something else. Im pretty lucky i think!
 
I recently played with the HTC Hero, runs so much smoother than the G1/HTC Magic.

My 3GS have a problem with the audio as well but I already swapped it over once. I find the battery life on them very poor.
 
Have used most of the touchscreen phones, the only real alternative is going to be the Hero or like a bold or curve? although the blackberrys arent touchscreen.
I had a G1 from t-mobile but thought the build quality was a bit mickey mouseish.
Lets hope the Heros better!.
 
The Android phones are all great....HTC Magic is a good option although the Hero is arguably better as it has a more refined UI and a bit more RAM.
 
The Samsung Jet is a nice little phone, Touch screen, very fast, and very nice UI. Well, I think so anyway. Loving this phone :)

I got mine last Friday and have been playing with it heaps...still not charged it (will be dead soon though)
