seems perfectly reasonable. she refuses what you need and you get to refuse her what she needs. if it happens to be different then unlucky. :D

I don't really see what the problem is. It's not as if she will die - she will almost definitely give in when the hunger pangs start, and then the issue has resolved itself. Seems like a good intervention by the state really.
 
Bomb all the crap backward countries so us civilised countries can expand there and actually use the place properly with decent laws, ppl etc.

We're not dying for the people of Afghanistan. We are dying to rid the country of militants who want to attack our country. We don't give a crap about the Afghan people.

I see your point though, just nuke it and be done with it already :p

this tbh...

The initial invasion was pretty justified but al-quaeda was driven out of afghan pretty swiftly into the mountains of north pakistan.... maybe we should have left it at that and let them sort the rest out themselves with perhaps some training/funding.

Trying to turn the place into a democracy is great in principle but I'm not sure it is necessarily worth this much effort.

Saddam Hussein led Iraq in a much better state than it is right now, and despite his shortcomings was fairly liberal and didn't tolerate extreme Islam. He even let homosexuals and trans-gendered people be.

Not advocating him, and he did kill a kurd here and there. But as far as the Americans and British thinking they did Iraq such a huge favour - ha. Saddam's presence had the helpful side-effect of keeping a nozzle on Iran too.
