Hi guys, Im new here but in a bit of a dilemma.
Recently my 8800Gt 512mb packed in, and is now pretty dead. Im looking for a new card to replace it.

I first found the GTX260 and liked it for its dual slot cooler and perfomance and its quite good value, however i was unsure that my powersupply had 2 of the 6 pin power cables to power it.

I have a 580watt powersupply is this enough for the GTX260 or 4870?
Aswell as would my PSU automatically have 2 6 pin connecters, and if i only have 1, what are my options graphics card wise?

Thank you

(If it helps my other specs are Q6600 2.3ghz, 4gb DDR2 800mhz and i run at resolution of 1680 x 1050)

The GTX 275 is out of my budget... The only reason im buying a new card is because my other one broke, so its more a replacement then a complete upgrade. However, i feel that if im forced to buy a new card i might aswell get a reasonably current high spec one.

I was looking around £100-£130 so regretfully won't buy the 275.

The right cables often come with the graphics card, so no need to worry about the PSU. As for which one, either the GTX260 or 4870 would do you very well.

Btw how do you work the whole RMA process, i find it a little confusing. I had my computer for roughly a year and a half, and have always had the 8800GT 512mb with it (pc built by cyberpower) and it wasnt under warrenty from them, after emailing EVGA, they said it wasnt under there warrenty.
So its not covered at all? No chance of a replacement?

I'm new overclocked stuff, even if done by the actual companys themselves, should i be weary of factory overclocked stuff?
Also are there any great advantages over named good brands instead of cheap-er brands such as zotac or gigabyte, over Asus or BFG?
What are your experiences? Is a Zotac 260 the exact same as a ASUS 260?

The cheapest 4890 i see is roughly £150, I dont think i want to spend that much, plus it will need a lot more power. I'll stick with the 260 or 4870 But having a tough decision on which one to get :S
