Corsair H50 OR Prolimatech Megahalems

I'd go for the H50.

Prices will be very similar, as will temps, but the H50 is something new to play around with. It'll be quieter due to slower fan speeds too, and should give you a bit more room inside your case. :)

You can change the fan on the H50, people seem to get the best results by fitting a fan on either side of the radiator in push-pull. The fans should be configured to draw air into the case so that cool air is passing across the radiator. This shouldn't cause an issue for case temps if your top fan is exhausting.

I don't really think push-pull is worth it for the sake of one or two degrees. If you've got money to burn on it then yeah, but it could be better spent elsewhere.

Well that’s my dilemma too, read various reviews some good, one or to not so good. Did not come across a review that used the Prolimatech Megahalems against the H20, the good thing about the H20 is it do’s not block a ram slot and it’s easy fitting. I’ll wait and see what folk have to say when they got it up and running about temp’s, etc. The case I’m getting for my build is a Silver Tech Fortress(designed with positive air pressure in case), which has a 180mm fan just where the radiator will fit so plenty of cool air going straight onto it from the outside, so the radiator will have a push>pull configuration. That’s if I decide to go for the H20.

Im leaning towards the Prolimatech Megahalems in a push/pull combo. The H50 looks pretty ugly in a push/pull combo lol, Also the Prolimatech Megahalems seems to be anywere from 2c-4c cooler the review was with 1 fan on H50 though.

Silverstone ;)

I believe the thing you want to avoid is a push pull with 2 fans running at different speeds and with different flow rates and preasure, which is why people seem to dith their case fan and the corsiar fan, and pick a pair of alternatives. It's going to add ~£20 to the cost of the cooler, but you have the same issue with the prolimatech.

The newer reviews on the Corsair are saying it's very similar in performance to a TRUE.

I can't help but think if water cooling really was this cheap and easy, we'd all be doing it by now.

I would play safe with the Megahelems.

At max RPM it doesn't get above 60C with an i7 at 4GHz. I'm not sure the Megahelems can do that. Replace the fans and it's either cooler or quieter depending on what you want most. I know what i'd get, but i understand people sticking to air, especially since it's got a higher price tag, considerably more if you buy two fans.

I small watercooling loop would be better though.
