Oh Sony, you should remember to purchase domain names befor announcing new brands

As I said, if he does the two things I listed, I don't see why he wouldn't be able to keep the domain as that would satisfy points ii and iii you have listed.

Because you only need to fall foul of one of the three things and the 2nd rule about legimate interests means that the website name must have some relationship to what you are selling.

You can't really have pspgo and sell cars for example as where is the link?

but if he bought the site before sony said there making it surly they cant just take it...if i made a website called psp3 now sony surly cant just take it off me when they do release a psp3 due to i created it and used it before they did

They can do exactly that.

You could though? Not all companys names relate to the products it sells.

It's basically trademark infringement.

Cool, ta :)

Unless you have an extremely good reason for having a psp3 domain, they would find it very easy to take it from you.

I've got a friend who has a Call of Duty MW2 domain, he's getting a lot of angry emails from Activision asking for it, and offering money into the thousands!

Sell it before they realise they might be able to get it for free.

No but there should be a link somewhere along the way either to the name of your company or what you are selling.

Yeah I know, but he 'could' have a company that he was making with that name...obviously he hasen't.

But if someone did, then there wouldn't be to much that can be done about it...?

Thats what I was referring to :)

I think this will end up in with Nominet's Dispute Resolution Service, Sony would be dumb not to. Bit of a slap in the face for them.

I hate cyber-squatting little twerps.

He'll lose it anyway, it links to the DSi site for starters. It's quite blatently an attempt to just troll Sony.
