Very loud computer coming from outside my back garden.

Every night for the last week at 3 a.m. I have heard the Windows log on sound and then the Windows log off sound 30 seconds later. I usually have my headphones on with music and can still hear it, I thought someone left their laptop on too loud at first. I opened my Window tonight when I heard the log off sound to get ready for the log on sound and it was LOUD. I couldn't even pinpoint it, it just filled the back garden. This is creeping me out

No I heard it with them on then took them off ready for the log on sound, they always log off then back on. There is nothing behind the back garden, it's just a field with an old boarded up school. I only have one neighbor on my right. Perhaps it's a deaf person using a laptop.

Are any of your neighbours breakdown recovery drivers, such as AA? My next door neighbour is an AA bloke, and his van makes some strange and often loud noises. I think they can wire their toughbooks upto the stero the van has, or at least it seems to be the case.

Could also be a car PC?

An episode of Futurama explains it all clearly. There is a robot graveyard nearby where a damaged modem is projecting their likeness into your garden. Your best bet it to grab a spade and get digging!

3am is usually the default time for Windows Update to download updates and install automatically if they havent changed it, so could have been that. So could be restarting for installed updates.

But I prefer Grizzly bears in your garden stealing your Wifi

Its the three bears running xp. They obviously do more then just poo in the woods these days lol.
