New Radiohead song.

Its terrible. Im a bit worried, the Harry Patch song was poor too. This track seems unfinished so hopefully its not the finished thing..

I think what's beginning to happen with Radiohead is instead of chucking songs that would usually end up on the studio floor they are releasing them for free. I guess they assume someone will like em so why not? I mean, Thom Yorke famously hated High and Dry yet still released it as he felt others might like it, maybe he's applying the same logic here.

At least, i hope that's the case.

Radiohead will NEVER go back to rocky guitar songs like on PH and the Bends. This is their new sound, how they want to sound and that's great.

I actually like this a lot more over the Harry Patch tribute song, and I enjoyed the cover Thom did with his brother, think it was called "All for the Best".

I'm looking forward to hearing this live next week :)

It's not too bad - seems like a mid album track or a bridging track more than anything, will keep my ear out for newer more fleshed out tracks I think.

There's nothing terrible about it, i think it's as good as anything on In Rainbows at least.

The Harry Patch song sounded beautiful, though i think Thom's vocal's let it down a bit.

Come on, theres only singing in the last 30 secs, a definite B-side I would have thought.
Yeah the Harry Patch music was beautiful but Toms singing was way too high/screechy.

Cheers for the heads up on that track.:)
Yep, I for one am glad they wont go back to guitar Radiohead, although I do have some Kid A style nostalgia.

Why does a song have to have lots of singing to not be classed as a B-side?

They've clearly put a lot of effort into it.

It doesnt, but the song (in my opinion of course) just isnt up to par. Jonny or Thom said on the blog that they were very happy with it. wheres the melody/tune? The latest technique seems to be more atmospheric sound than melody.

The song's good.

Agreed: "You" is my single most favourite Radiohead song of all time - no question. However, that's not to say I don't enjoy their other stuff.

Yeah, I sometimes prefer listening to something like this than something lyric-heavy. Sometimes a nice tune without a lot of words is better.

Well, it wasn't as bad as I was fearing by a long shot, but it did sound fairly horrible in places. Why this band wants to include so much dissonance in their songs, I will never know. They will be covering Behold the Arctopus soon.

Actually bearable from them for a change. It's not bad, surely isn't finished but it's pretty good to listen too.

Their harry partch tribute was awful and their last album was pretty pretentious
