The Official Football Manager 2010 Thread

That does ring a vague bell, can't remember his name though. So who does everyone think is the best player regardless of cost and age on FM09? From my personal experience I'm going to say either Zhirkov or Sneijder.

Artem Milevskyi by a mile, the lad is a monster.

Only costs £10m and bangs 30+ a season

I'd say Zhirkov or Vagner Love.

Daniel Carvalho, he was godlike in 07 shocking in 09 he has the pace of a paraplegic elephant.

edit: Whoops, only back from dinner and there was already a reply!
Yep. Absolute tripe.

And that finnish player was Mika Aaritalo, he was insane
That's the one!

Pfft what a pathetic first post in this thread.

:p

It is almost as if someone told you to post in here and provided you with a link so you didn't have to find the thread yourself. :D

im definatly getting fm10 its so addictive only problem i find with it is when me and my mates are having net games and we update each others with our scores via steam is that the host of the net game always finishes his game 1st and if he loses or draws it usually means that your team is gonna drop points aswell i dont know whether it is just me but when my mate says to me he has drew and im still in the 70 something minute and leading 1-0 im just waiting for thier equaliser but its still a great game

im gonna go with either vagner love, balotelli or juan manuel vargas as his stats just rocket over a couple of seasons

Depends, for example I have players I always look to sign, Sakho for example.
I also like signing Mark Beevers, and Delph.

I'm going to say Sneijder as well, he's been out standing whenever I've signed him, Augero (spelling it's late) has never failed to deliver.
Zucclini, is also fantastic, and often a first buy.

Going to go with ... Sneijder or Ronaldinho (spelling :o)

I've recommended this player so many times in the '09 thread. He usually bags 20+ goals a season and with the right partner (I play him with Seleznyov, teammate for club and country) he can both score and set up a handful of goals.

Hes a very similar type of player to Pogbrenyak.

So what makes FM a lot better than CM ? I have seen quite a bit that theres a huge fanbase behind FM. But I am just curious as to why it is better ?

I havnt played a football management game for about 6 years. I wanna to have another bash at it. But I just dont understand how there can be a HUGE difference between FM and CM

Well FM is made by the team who made the original CM games, after a dispute with Eidos they split off and let Sega publish games, Eidos owned the license though.

So the reason FM is better.....is because the team behind it are far better at it. Same way a Valve shooter will be far better than some generic FPS game.

I've got the time.

Championship Manager was the name of the best football manager game on the planet. It continued to be the benchmark for football manager games up until Championship Manager 4. After that, there was a fall out with the game designers (Sports Interactive) and the publishers (Eidos). This fall out saw Eidos keep the brand name of "Championship Manager". Sports Interactive meanwhile kept all of the gamecode which had beenbuilt up with over 10 years of experience.

SI chose to name their next football manager sim "Football Manager". Eidos meanwhile had to draw up a brand new game code which turned out to be a load of poop. However they still managed to sell lots of copies of the game as unless you were mad keen on football manager games, you wouldn't have known about the split.

Football Manager meanwhile was a massive success and has continued to be, whilst Eidos's Championship Manager has bombed. Hence it being available for next to nothing..

Am I right or more or less right?

/EDIT - Suppose I could have just saved myself my free time to give you this link.
