They have to be Wii exclusive games.

Super Mario Galaxy 2

Metroid: Other M

Super Mario Bros Wii

Dead Space Extraction

Resident Evil: The Darkside Chronicles

I wasn't impressed by the previous Resident Evil/House of the Dead Wii light gun games, and the lack of 1:1 mapping means it's nothing like the old Time Crisis/Virtua Cop/House of the Dead games that I used to love playing. :(

That Resident Evil video just reminded me how much better the games used to be back then.

Really hope they sort it out for the next game, needs to go back to the old style with real zombies.

Metroid and Super Mario Galaxy 2 are the only two that interest me. As Kreeee said, a lack of 1:1 mapping pretty much renders light gun games pointless on the Wii for me.

Although i do have my fingers crossed for a style savvy port, man that looked awesome

What's 1:1 mapping?

1:1 basically mean the game perceives where you're aiming the gun correctly. So for example with the old time crisis games if you aimed the gun using the sights and fired, a hit would be registered at that spot on the screen. With the Wii however the aim of the gun is determined using the Wii sensor bar, not the screen itself. The result of this is that where you aim with a Wii remote is not going to be 'correct', it will actually be slightly off or in most cases, way off. This is why all the light gun games on the Wii have a crosshair on screen, you need it to aim.

What about motion plus.. will this work better with future light gun games?

No, the aiming is determined solely by the infra red camera at the tip of the Wii remote. The Wii sensor bar is actually a set of infra red lights that the camera in the remote picks up and then relays back to the Wii, using this it can then determine it's angle in relation to the sensor bar. The problem with this is that the Wii doesn't take the size of the screen into account as it's using the Wii sensor bar as it's sole point of reference. I'm sure with some clever programming someone could come up with a way of it calculating aim based on the distance from the sensor bar and the size of the screen it is being used with however there are still issues such as input lag from the infra red camera itself which can not be overcome without a complete overhaul of the camera hardware itself.

In short, i can't see 1:1 happening properly on the Wii.

Any announcement on the new Zelda? I've heard nothing at all and it's the only reason my Wii has not been sold, it's been gathering dust for a few months.

After E3 one of the directors showed off the box art or something. It's rumoured to be due in 2010, late 2010 i would guess.

At last, some decent games to look forward to on the Wii. I almost sold mine this year.

Looking forward to both Mario Games. I loved Galaxy.

Galaxy, Mario Bros, The grinder, Dead Space, Resident Evil

I dont care that Dead Space is a light gun game im just happy to be getting more Dead Space :D

Mario and Metroid at a guess for me.
Which reminds me I need to finish Mario Galaxy (I'm near the last level on it but got side tracked months ago).

The only way I can see true Arcade Lightgun games being what they originally should be instead of this dumbed down Wii on-screen cursor limitation is if some peripheral maker decides to produce gun hardware with seperate bar sensor and works perfectly with CRT and LCD's TV screens alike. Maybe it could be plugged into the USB ports which will also finally see the Wii getting use out of it. But even so and most importantly, the game developers will have to take time to implement support for this hardware like the issue of compatibilities and the many different types of TV screens out there.

It would be quite costly for the technology, hence the reason why I don't see true Arcade 1:1 Lightguns games on the Wii which is really a damn shame. Only choice is the go down the Video Arcades themselves if you love pumping in £1 coins for the true experience, or back to the games on the older consoles with your ancient but reliable CRT TV.

Anyways I am looking forward to Metroid: Other M myself. Hopefully it will work will on the Wii as it needs a decent Devil May Cry/Ninja Gaiden style of game. Maybe it will open more doors for Tecmo for more games on the system.

EDIT - Totally forgotten about Monster Hunter Tri. It's already been out in Japan, so it will take a while to reach our shores. And then there is also Muramasa: The Demon Blade.
