Raising funds for a good course - Hows the best way Guys

As title, I am currently in the process of trying to get what I think is a worthy cause

off the ground but have stumbled along that old problem of funds. I dont have charity status yet but am in need of trying to raise funds to move on with this project.

Can anyone tell me what they know about fund raising etc I understand that it should be easier once charity status is granted but that can take an age and I need to move on.

Crikey thats a maze of links and it get worse from there on in :eek:
