They are playing each other tonight at the Nou camp.

Is this just a general friendly, or is there some sort of back door deals going on?

I'm just confused as why Man City would still be playing friendlys when they have kicked off their premier league campaign?

This is a charity/commemorative/friendly game Barcelona play every year. Man City may be doing it for publicity but I doubt Barca are receiving much money if any at all.

A single goal from Martin Petrov gave Manchester City victory in the Trofeo Joan Gamper game against a young FC Barcelona side that dominated for long periods but were unable to find a way through to an equaliser.

For the first time an English club have lifted the prestigious trophy as the Citizens won the game with their only shot on target throughout the 90 minutes. Barça, who played two different teams that were both young, continued to persist during the entire match, but were just not able to make the breakthrough that would have lifted them.
