My missus quite likes them so thought would do a bit of research

seems like they are expensive for what they are but I can imagine they would they hold price well

as the numbers produced were so low are there any issues with parts availability ?

close mate has one, very good car, will hold its value and i've never been in something that corners so so flat with so so much grip.....the downside, you dont want to be in it more than 10mins at a time and you sure as hell dont want to take it on the motorway.

The short ratio gearbox revs all the way to 7,000 rpm and you hear every single one of those revs.

Its a weekend car or track car. Nothing else

Jansey_B is your man for Fords...but he's suspended. :p

As far as I was aware, they are basically a Fiesta in drag...so parts shouldn't be an issue.

Sam on here had one quite some time ago, he may know some helpful stuff.

As for parts as said above it's practically a track ready fiesta, parts are generic and everywhere. Body parts though are expensive as is the respray which accompanies buying new body panels

mmm, missus only does about 6k a year but sounds like it may still be a bit extreme for her

Aren't the brakes cripplingly exspensive for what they are and require frequent rebuilds? (going off memory).

Great cars though. :)

Suppose to be great fun for what they are, a 'lite' coupe. Having been in one before I can echo the statement that I wouldn't want to do any sort of long trip in one (more than an hour) or any sort of mileage. However can also add it was great being in one as the driver gave it some beans, just a fun experience all over.

If she likes the looks maybe check out a Hyundia Coupe, or if you're mad a Fiat Coupe?

They're not as bad as people make out, elises and such like are worse. Although saying they it's still best to get a test drive sorted!

Parts wise you should be fine as companies such as Puma Build have all had replica (and better) parts produced.

extreme is the right word, out of interest what does she like about them? the looks?

basically, she is up for new car soon but changes her mind every 2 weeks

so far she wants

What appeals about them? Would a standard Puma not do the job?

Edit - should have read the thread first :)

Thought it was a bit quiet, what did he do?

new Tigra not the old one

Ah right, why not just do the rounds at the dealers one day, driving a few back to back (FR Puma, Clio 182, Fiesta ST, Tigra, TT, Hyundia Coupe etc....) and just see which car clicks and she likes. No doubt being a women she'll pick a 206CC because it's pretty or something though

until the "short list" gets shorter and stops changing I am not going that far :p
