Any of the COD series
Battlefield
UT
Half Life
Arma2
Left 4 Dead
Fallout

Relatively new to PC gaming and have played all the above to death.

Are there any gems I've missed out on? Need something to pass the time until MW2!

Cheers

Crysis(depending on your rig), Mirrors Edge and Stalker. All can be picked up for fairly cheap nowadays. Since you are relatively new to pc gaming might also be worth checking out some older titles like FEAR, Quake4, Doom3 etc.

Ha, I used to play networked Doom back in school, will defintely check out the new versions (along with Quake).

Didn't think much of Cysis as a game tbh.

Haven't heard of Stalker though, I shall investigate thx.

Bioshock is awesome. It was developed for both the PC and Consoles at the same time by two different companies iirc, so it's not a port.

It might not be a port, but IIRC the developers forgot to lift the cap on the frame rate for all physics objects after locking it at 30fps for consoles, so if the rest of your game's running at a significantly higher frame rate on PC, you'll notice a bit of stuttering --nothing game changing, though-- when kicking barrels or whatever around.

I always wondered what caused that. Thanks :)

Another vote for Bioshock. Personally I don't really class ME as a FPS as there really isn't much shooting. Personally didn't like the game as well (garish graphics and repetitive gameplay for me).

Team Fortress 2 is okay for a quick blast - though, again, can get very repetitive.
