Since the RX8's turned up there. The figures had to be seen to be beleived.

LOL :)

You're such a **** taker, I struggle to tell when you are being serious and when you're being sarcastic/joking.

I suggest the use of emoticons for my sole benefit :p

lol what is this - the Spanish Inquisition??!! All i know is what i saw. I dont know the hows, when etc. I looked at the speedo and belive it did 60 in second gear. He has some paperwork with a 0-62 time of 6.2 Secs from the Pod.

I just looked at a damn piece of paperwork.

I know NO more than that.

It got to 60 in like 6 seconds and was pant wettingly fast from there on - i LOVE this car.

Nice cars the Otavia VRS, one of my mates has had one for a while. I wouldn't class it as pant wettingly fast though, it's got some power behind it for a 5 door family car but it's only really moderately fast.

I struggle to believe that the VRS manages 0-60 in 6 seconds though seeing as it's front wheel drive (even though the VRS is significantly lighter than the TT), sure it wasn't on slicks?

Autocar managed 6.7 to 60 from the Octavia vRS which apparently was "mapped" to 190bhp. They also got 6.3 seconds 30-70mph and 16.7 to 100mph.

I managed to get a reading of 6.2/3 on a gtech over two runs on a flat road / good conditions.

What do they put out at standard, the OPs mentioned remapped car has 40BHP on an already supposedly mapped 190bhp... seems a bit of a far stretch for a re-map alone?

180bhp standard, 220bhp is probably top end for a stage 1 remap I'd guess.

Remember it's not the peak power that generally makes the different in remaps, the APR map I've got was 45bhp more in some places

The 190bhp was the autocar test car which apparently was slightly tuned over standard (10bhp). A chap from the skoda forums bought it I believe and got it rolling roaded.

180bhp standard, remap and breathing tends to take them to around 220 and then with intercooler, exhaust and some other tweeks you can get them to about 240 relatively cheaply. I doubt it could manage 6.2secs to 60, the TCS is very intrusive since they pump out a shed load of torque, but it will do 80mph in 2nd gear and with a decent map they will pull hard. Not quite as fast as they feel but they are great cars, just tell him to change the coil packs if they haven't already been done, they'll be due to die

wow 80mph in 2nd is some serious gearing...like what rpm does this thing rev to?

7k redline, although 6.5k is normally a sweet spot to change up on. Hmm, I think 80mph might be a tad high (maybe red line). It'll def do 70mph in 2nd htough.

I know it'll do 108mph in 3rd at the redline

I very rarely have the TCS come on since moving from Dunlop SP 2000 sports to Eagle F1s.

I'm getting a bit of wheel hop in 1st gear (bushes I think), but before this I could easily put all the power down in 1st/2nd without it coming on.
