Porsche failed MOT - Quote £1000

I would take your car to an on hub disk skimming place. If they are only moderately pitted they will just cut it back, had the same problem with my Skyline and they fixed it for 70 quid.

And the contractor who sits next to me at work told me he walked across the road to the porsche dealership after an M3 service because their costs had finally annoyed him enough. Thus bought a 997 turbe :p

Buy a Sagaris, something special, plus you can gain lots of experience playing with wiring looms, sticking on bits with glue, and looking like a complete awesome god of a man when you drive around :D

pitted front brake discs

You could take a brand spanking new Porsche to the dealers and they'd fail it on discs, it seems to be a way of them making a lot of money!

I'd be willing to bet that the brake discs are absolutely fine and 99% of other garages would pass them.

Porsche treat disks as a "service consumeable" so eidolon is right, never take to a main delaer for MOT ;)

has been checked by 2 places

I found cheaper OE stuff on web but it appears that the Tesco warranty is going to pick up the costs of discs and fitting

not sure if they will pay for the pads though, I would doubt it

That's good then, I think I'll take mine to Porsche next month and hope they pick up the discs as failures! (although I checked em earlier and they look absolutely fine to me)

I had all 4 discs done on mine and two new front tyres before I picked it up. If they tell me I need new discs when I get my MOT done next may after < 8000 miles I shall poke them in the eye. I do need two new rear tyres soon though :(
